4 2015 Annual ReportReport 2015 Annual Scholarship History Bloomington Kennedy 2015 Scholarship Recipients Awarded $290,634 to Bloomington seniors In the past ten years Presented $53,500 in scholarships with $11,000 provided by the Foundation s Endowment Fund in Fiscal Year 2015 Senior Scholarships Honored 51 seniors in the Class of 2015 with scholarships for a combination of achievement, involvement and demonstrated need Philip Punoose The Foundation awards scholarships to Jefferson and Kennedy High School seniors each spring. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, school and community organizations, and individuals, the Foundation continues its tradition of honoring its high school graduates. 5 CFT History Donated $73,249 for school lunches over the last ten years Served an estimated 30,000 lunches using CFT funds Provided $14,729 in lunches for students in need in Fiscal Year 2015 Marlene Baune Food Service Manager An unexpected loss of a job, doctor bills or car repairs impact our families all the time. These situations can cause a temporary financial crisis for families. We have some kids in these situations who go home after school and there is nothing to eat, let alone any money to pay for school lunches. CFT is the perfect solution for these situations, because it allows us to act quickly to help kids without going through an elaborate approval process. Children s Food For Thought Children s Food for Thought is an important program of the. CFT provides nourishing school lunches for students when their families have a financial crisis. Whether the family has a temporary financial setback, doesn't qualify for federal food assistance or is in the process of applying for aid Children's Food for Thought is here to help. Since Children's Food for Thought was launched ten years ago, it has provided $73,249 for more than 30,000 nourishing lunches for our Bloomington Public School students. Feeding Bloomington s Hungry Children

Language Arts Field Trip - funded 20 students in 2015 Student Success Stipends Our Student Success Stipend s program offers financial assistance to students who need help with basic educational needs as well as those who need financial support to pursue educational enrichment activities. Our support ranges from helping those who may need back packs, school supplies and bus passes to helping provide extracurricular activities in Art, Science, Mathematics, Language Arts and Social Studies. 8 2015 Annual ReportReport 2015 Annual Innovation Grant History Awarded $138,016 in classroom Innovation Grants in the past ten years Suspended program in Fiscal Year 2015; requests funded under Student Stipends until program resumes Grant Recipient Bloomington Public Schools "An Innovation Grant was awarded to the Indian Education Program of the Bloomington Schools to purchase authentic materials to be included in Learning Trunks that could be checked out by staff and travel inter-district to different classrooms as a class learns about the history of the American Indian. These trunks are designed to supplement current curriculum (following current standards) and be available over the years throughout the district." Innovation Grants Classroom Innovation Grants enable teachers to explore and evaluate creative instructional projects that meet their students learning needs. Successful grant proposals must define expected learning results and the evaluation method to be used in measuring results.

Chip in for Schools Golf Classic The Education Foundation of Bloomington hosted its largest fundraiser of the year in July.

The EFB raised over $35,000 to improve and change the educational experience of our Bloomington public school students.

9 Chip in for Schools Golf Classic The Education Foundation of Bloomington hosted its largest fundraiser of the year in July. The day included golfing, contests, awards program and barbecue dinner.
