GMS Foundation & PTSA GMS Foundation Established in 2014 Non-profit organization formed to raise funds beyond those currently provided by Cobb County District and the PTSA Aims to financially support elements of education such as technology enhancements, supplemental enriched curriculum, student services, additional faculty, and capital improvements. GMS PTSA Non-profit organization under the umbrella of the National PTA. PTA s mission is to make every child s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Engage our community, parents, teachers and students to implement educational, arts, STEM and physical fitness programs all year long. Support from our GMS family comes in a variety of forms: volunteer labor, cash donations, and in-kind donations.

5 In honor of Griffin s 45 th birthday, we set a fundraising goal of $45, G2G Goal 4 Areas of Focus for the Funds OUTDOOR LEARNING Develop a new nature trail on the GMS campus $2,000 CLASSROOM GRANTS Purchase needed resources for our classrooms to support and enhance teacher curriculums; $15,000 STEM CERTIFICATION Purchase materials needed to complete the Cobb County School (CCS) Stem Certification program; $3,000 TECHNOLOGY EXPANSION Purchase a classroom set of laptops with cart; $25,000

6 Campaign Results 5 students donated out of 1400 students 136 families participated Raised $27,000 including matching gifts of $1,900 Proceeds are split 60%/40% between the Foundation and PTSA Donor Levels: 8 donors($1-$24) 35 donors at the BRONZE($25-$99) level 51 donors at the SILVER($100-$249) level 18 donors at the GOLD ($250-$499) level 24 donors at the PLATINUM ($500+)level

7 Foundation Teacher Grants $14, Foundation provided 14, in grants distributed to 10 winning teacher grants in the first semester.

13 Did you know? Nature Trail & Outdoor Classroom Began developing the 1/2 mile nature trail leading to the old dilapidated outdoor classroom has. Trail cleared Trailhead sign Tree markers There s a large White Oak, estimated to be 150+ years old and 36 in diameter. This tree is located just a few feet away from the to-berestored outdoor classroom and amphitheater. Go take a hike.

16 Thank you for your support!! Thank you to all the volunteers who support PTSA! We love our parents, students, and teachers who spend extra time in support of our Student Activities and Achievements! We also thank everyone who has donated this year to help PTSA implement our goals! So far this year we have raised $40K in addition to our starting balance of $23K for a total working budget of $63K! We have contributed $35K in a variety of ways towards Griffin Middle School staff, students, clubs, and activities! We have a current balance of $28K for remaining projects and expenses.
