In this session, he will help us understand and overcome the challenges of managing and working in a multigenerational workforce. Through humour and witty observations he will inspire us to become better leaders and managers of those working around us. 3 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Employment Law with Maria McDonald, LL.B. of Dykeman Dewhirst O'Brien LLP With unique expertise in community-based health care delivery, Maria s firm understands the inner workings of health care organizations, and focuses on teaching clients how to empower themselves on a range of health law topics. Maria provides advice to hospitals, FHTs, and other employers, and frequently acts as counsel in arbitrations, before the Ontario Labour Relations Board and in relation to wrongful dismissals, and employment standards matters. Her practice focuses on HR advice, human rights, and disability and return-to-work management. Learn from fellow managers who have successfully overcome challenges in communication, managing expectations, and the art of persuasion when dealing with their doctors. Future Direction of EMRs with Wes Stonos of OntarioMD Wes has been with OntarioMD since 2008, and has 23 years of experience in software and technology. As Regional Manager West

4 Region, he leads a team of 13 professionals who support communitybased physicians transitioning their practices from paper to paperless in conjunction with OntarioMD s EMR Adoption Program. Topics include leveraging your EMR, OLIS, funding, etc. [Lake Huron Room] 1C. Compensation Let s talk wages and benefits. How do you pay your staff? How much is enough? What are the current average wages for specific jobs? What benefits do you offer and what is the cheapest way to do so? Leveraging IT to Save Time and Money with Bob Minhas of TechLife IT Considering digital signage? Wondering about server vs. cloud, best back-ups, or maintaining the health of your network? What works best for your clinic? Bob has worked in tech in one form or another for 17 years, including with major telco providers. His expertise ranges from security systems, to audio/visual, to IT, and he has worked on the HGTV programs Holmes on Homes, Disaster DIY, and Income Properties. An interactive session based on your questions. 2B. Cancer Care Ontario & Primary Care Cancer Care Ontario will update us about their efforts to ensure that primary care providers have the tools and support they need to improve the quality of care provided to patients at risk of or with cancer during prevention, screening, early diagnosis, treatment and care following cancer. Small group problem-solving/networking with Karen Majerly OMGMA s marketing and communications coordinator will facilitate a session that gets delegates working together in small groups to solve their real-life problems with help from peers who understand their day-to-day challenges best.
