Lamalou-les-Bains: A specialised rehabilitation centre including a centre for caring for the ailments of burn victims. The leading rehabilitation unit in France, this centre has been identified by the Schémas Interrégionaux d Organisation Sanitaire (SIOS Interregional Healthcare Organisation Schemes) as the interregional reference centre for the rehabilitation of adult burn victims covering the following regions of France: PACA, Corsica, Languedoc-Roussillon, Aquitaine, Limousin and Midi-Pyrénées. (PHSI/ATIH 2012 data) 2014 The Clinique du Dr Ster exports its know-how: start of construction of the Centre Européen de Rééducation des Grand Brûlés (European Rehabilitation Centre for Burns, Wounds and Scars). The burn victim rehabilitation centre treats patients after their stay in an intensive care unit. The purpose of their stay is to reduce the functional, aesthetic and psychological damage caused by the burns, insofar as possible. The Ster Clinic offers treatments that are not available in the UK. The treatments offered at the Ster clinic, hands mobilisation, occupational therapy, waterjets therapy, helped my scars become flatter and paler, and also made everyday tasks easier. The independance I gained during my stay made me feel more like the young women I am.
