1 Disaster Relief Christian Community () (Network of Christian groups for disaster emergency response) "Coordinated by"( Nepal Great Earthquake 2015 Situation Report (3rd May 2015) Key Points The death toll from the 7.8 magnitude earthquake increased to 7,250 people with more than 12,000 injured, according to national emergency operation centre. According to Nepal government report 160,786 houses were destroyed and 143,673 houses partially damaged. Ninth day search and rescue teams saved an additional four lives from the rubble. National and international teams are actively involving in rescue and relief in affected area. The humanitarian organization, Christian mission organizations and local churches engaging in relief work and seeing fund to provide life saving assistance of earthquake affected people. Over 100 Christians died and 500 churches damage.

2 As a response towards the disaster, an emergency meeting of local Christian leaders, development organization leaders and community leaders was held on April It was decided to work and mobilize Christian community for relief of earthquake affected area. In order to bring synergy among all the groups in the relief work, the coalition network named "Disaster Relief Christian Community () was formed to witness love of Christ. The meeting also unanimously agreed to form a core working committee to address the situation; therefore, eight (8) member response teams were formed. Finance, Logistic, mobilization, Coordination and communication, medical, advocacy, prayer, and technical support teams are actively involving in each area

3 What do do? 1. Coordinate and collaborate among the all Christian society, church group, and supporting organization 2. Mobilize national and international number of volunteers for rescue and relief. 3. Coordinate with government and other relevant agencies to get permission and legal procedure. 4. Channelize the fund and supports from national and international supporting partners. 5. Coordinate to provide relief materials to affected family in remote and highly needed areas. 6. Mobilize medical teams with medicine in rural and remote earthquake hit areas. Some Achievements 1. Established a communication and coordination resource centre in coordination with Nepal police, district government agency and local club. 2. Sent volunteers to conduct situation assessment in most affected 7 districts. 3. Collected information from local area leaders and affected persons. 4. Five medical teams sent to Southern Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Northern Kathmanudu and Dhading ,000 kg rice and other food items have been distributed in Shindhupalchowk, Dhading, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Lalitpur, Kavre and Kathmandu tents are provided over different areas. 7. Over 90 volunteers involved in rescue and relief distribution in earthquake affected areas. 8. Coordinated among 12 national and 9 international organizations to work together Pius (water purifier drop) provided in 15 camps in Kathmandu and Lalitpur area. 10. Conducted prayer 24/7 for Nepal, affected families and their lives 11. Coordinated with national and international organizations to mobilize resources for effective progress.
