1 Trauma Recovery and Community Healing in Conflict States in Sudan 2017
2 Aim : To build the individual resilience and community healing in conflict states in Sudan. Specific Objectives: 1. Set up Ahfad Trauma Center as regional hub for trauma psychosocial support in collaboration with with Essex University. 2. Establishing Darfur (AlFashir Trauma Center) FTC, and Blue Nile (Damazin Trauma Center) DTC services unit.
3 The project conducted the following activities: 1. Establishing of TRUST HUB. 2. Development of Monitoring and Evaluation tool and Quality Guidelines booklet. 3. Development of Trauma comprehensive training packages. 4. Establishing Trauma Centers in Conflict States. 5. Development of Enhancing MHPSS capacity in low resource settings From individual to collective healing Trainer s manual 6. Producing Trauma Radio Messages Program.
4 1 TRUST hub Activities Vision Collaborative network of national, regional and international stakeholders interested in trauma mental health and psychosocial services and interventions in conflict affected areas Mission scaling-up service delivery through capacity building, TRUST intervention packages, treatment and care packages, community and mental health care platforms, and building trauma centers in conflict zones. members co-ordinate the latest relevant thinking, reliable evidence and recent developments in MHPSS in conflict affected areas; disseminate information and knowledge; co-ordinate and organize research; develop best practice and train professionals and lay health workers along with providing quality assurance; guidance, support and M&E.
5 2 Monitoring and Evaluation Toolkit for Clinical and Outreach Services The manual work as a guidance on how to identify indicators. How to create a monitoring plan, and monitoring tools also how to use and analyses your data. The manual also help in monitoring clinical services by understanding how to collect data about clients, use of case records, assessing the client satisfaction, assess achievement of case outcomes. Monitoring Paychologists, Social workes, service providers in the filed of MHPSS Who can use this Manual? The manual explains the basic steps how to evaluate the process, the outcome and the impact. Explain data collection methods and how to use the evaluation results. Evaluation of psychosocial support programs in emergencies. Evaluation
6 3 MHPSS Quality Guidelines Tool Content Is designed to assure the best provision of care that can be monitored and evaluated in: Practices Health Care Satisfaction and Complain Who use this tool? Mental Health Facility ( Trauma Centers staff members, psychologists/counselors and psychatrists ). How? The Guidelines serve as a basement structure upon which protocols are made, they assure the equity of service delivery regardless of the differences in care providers.
7 Understanding trauma Childhood trauma Trauma case mangment 3 Development of Trauma comprehensive training packages (UCT) to serve as minimum standard for mental health following IASC guidelines for trauma survivors in the Afro/Arab region; the following graph explains the aim of each package: U C T Understanding the epstimology of trauma. Developmenet of a range of communication skills necessary for trauma counselors. Equip the participants with basic trauma intervention which in return will help in increasing the quality of services provided. Understanding the childhood attachement theory. Introducing trauma sensitive care. Understanding the basics of conducting KIDNET. Understanding how to apply lifeline. Insure that the participants got the knowledge and skills of how to manage trauma cases ( PTSD,GBV,Depression and Anxiety) professionally. Identifying of the assessment tools of Trauma Cases. Learning of how to write Case Formulation and report writing Identify the steps of conducting Supervision sessions.
