The results of this survey will be reported based on facility type, operating budget size, and geographic region. The reliability and use of the report will be enhanced with increased participation of all facilities. We encourage you to complete the survey and mail it in with your order for a copy of the report. Please complete & submit the attached compensation survey no later than Friday, June 30, We must charge a fee to cover the costs of administering the survey and compiling and reporting the results. Nonparticipants are able to purchase the report of survey results but for twice the fee. Please return the completed survey timely. EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT Provides confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director. HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST Responsible for a wide range of functions related to human resource/personnel programs and policies such as recruiting, compensation, benefits, training and labor relations. 14 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER Responsible for aligning the community s technology with its vision and business strategy by integrating organizational processes with the appropriate technologies. This position may be responsible for ensuring the continuing development of the web site and other Internet-related deliverables. This position provides leadership to staff, supports the user community, and maintains the infrastructure in support of a technically advanced environment of information, computing, and telecommunications tools. The IT Manager provides general oversight and management to the technology functions. MEDICAL RECORDS PERSON Responsible for medical records information on each individual resident and incorporating the nursing staff information onto these records. Processing computerized resident plans of care and multidisciplinary flow sheets. Review charts of discharged residents for the deficiencies. Maintains effective communication with others, both inside and outside the department, to give or obtain needed information or coordinate activities of residents (e.g., doctor s appointments). 17 Nursing / Personal Care Positions ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING Assist the Director of Nursing in evaluating, assessing, developing and directing the delivery of nursing care. Duties may include staff development, care plan coordination, and staffing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse. ASSISTED LIVING NURSING COORDINATOR Responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation and improvement of all the nursing care provided for the assisted living client. Serves as liaison among client, families, physicians, consultants, ancillary care providers and staff. DIRECTOR OF NURSING SERVICES Evaluate, assess, develop and direct the delivery of nursing care. 18 LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE LPN This position is responsible for providing treatment to elderly residents in a licensed care setting as prescribed by the physician. MDS COORDINATOR Responsibilities include oversight of the generation of a Minimum Data Set (MDS) for each Medicare or Medicaid patient and electronic transmission of required data by timeframe mandated by the State. 20 REGISTERED NURSE RN This position is required to direct, administer and record the nursing care given to the elderly in a licensed facility. STAFF DEVELOPMENT Organize, assess, direct, plan, develop and implement all levels of orientation in-service and continuing education for nursing staff. 21 Dietary Services Positions CHEF / COOK Prepares cooking equipment for use; adjusts temperature controls. Coordinates menus and work orders for preparation of food type and quantity. Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation. Reviews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared. Prepares, seasons and cooks food. Please indicate if your wage data is for a position of Chef or Sous Chef. COOK S HELPER Assists cook in the kitchen area prior to, during and after meals are served to the residents. May assist in preparing food. DINING ROOM MANAGER Directs and supervises daily operation of the dining room. Coaches, trains and evaluates dining room employees. 22 DIRECTOR OF DIETARY SERVICES Organize, supervise and insure that the dietary staff maintain and deliver high quality, well-balanced meals and supplemental nutritional foods for residents. Orders all foods and supplies. In a nursing facility, consults with and implements the directives of a registered dietitian. DISHWASHER Assists in maintaining kitchen work areas and keeping equipment, utensils and food plates clean and orderly. WAITPERSON / DIETARY AIDE Takes food and beverage orders from residents in a retirement living environment and serves the orders. 23 Therapy Services Positions OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST Responsible for evaluation and treatment of persons who have been referred by a physician for Occupational Therapy. May advocate for a physician s referral for Occupational Therapy based upon communication, observed need, or an informal screening. Prepare and conduct in-service education for staff, develop OT plan of care, including frequency and duration of treatment. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT Assists in implementing occupational therapy treatment programs. Assesses client performance of activities and responses to exercises. Documents assessment information. PHYSICAL THERAPIST Responsible for evaluation and treatment for residents who have been referred for Physical Therapy. Conduct an evaluation, develop PT care plan including frequency and duration of treatment. Prepare and conduct inservice education for staff. 24 PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT Implements physical therapy treatment programs under direction of a Physical Therapist. Assesses client performance of exercises, comprehension of training and changes in functional status. Documents assessment information. REHABILITATION COORDINATOR Supervise and evaluate rehab staff and ensure there is appropriate staffing. Coordinate rehab activities with other departments. Manage rehab department budget, care planning, and ensure compliance with Medicare and state requirements and reporting. RESTORATIVE AIDE Provide restorative therapy exercises to residents to improve or maintain their physical functioning and independence. Explain/demonstrate restorative program task to residents. 25 Housekeeping / Laundry Positions HOUSEKEEPER / CUSTODIAN- 967 Performs various tasks to ensure the cleanliness of a nursing or retirement facility, including vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, empty trash bins, and clean bathrooms and windows. May require using power equipment, such as floor sweeper or polisher. HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR Direct and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping department. Establish, maintain and monitor staff work schedules to insure adequate staffing levels. Monitor supply and operating equipment needs. LAUNDRY AIDE Tends laundering machines to clean sheets, blankets, pillow coverings and personal articles of residents. Fold and sort clothes. Deliver all personal laundry to designated areas. 27 Environmental Services Positions DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Performs administrative and supervisory work directing the operation, maintenance and security of the facility. May also supervise Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. Responsible for planning, scheduling, supervising, and inspecting work of environmental services employees. GROUNDSKEEPER Responsible for the overall appearance of the grounds, including all grass and planting areas, walkways and entrances, driveways and parking areas. Does preventive maintenance on grounds equipment, keeps tools and equipment neat and organized. MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR Responsible for supervising a range of maintenance jobs such as normal building equipment and property maintenance operations of carpentry, electrical, painting, etc. LeadingAge Washington Survey Page 22 June 2017

28 MAINTENANCE / REPAIR PERSON This position is responsible for maintenance of the facility. Uses power tools and hand tools. Repairs woodwork using carpentry tools. Checks and replaces broken electrical switches and makes other minor electrical repairs. Prepares and paints various structures. May make plumbing repairs. SECURITY GUARD Guards and/or patrols facilities to protect organization, personal property, and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. 29 Resident Services Positions ACTIVITIES STAFF Assists in the planning and implementation of an activity program that meets the needs and interests for the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of the residents. ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR Coordinate, document and execute all aspects of the resident admissions process. In a nursing facility may include responsibility for initial social work assessment and care plan development. May include marketing and maintenance of approved census levels. CHAPLAIN Responsible for providing direct pastoral care services to individual residents, families, and staff as needed. Plan and conduct worship, prayer and memorial services.
