José María Aznar Former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar gave the keynote address at ICEF 2013 ICEF Awards 2014 ICEF 2014 will include the bestowing of a series of prestigious awards recognising world-class achievements within the construction industry. These will include the coveted International Construction Project of the Year award, for the delivery of an outstanding project with a construction value of US$ 100 million or more, completed between January 2013 and June 30, This winner will be chosen by a panel of independent expert judges, augmented by a poll conducted among International Construction magazine s readers. Other categories will recognise significant achievements and innovation in fields such as construction equipment design, and winners of the 2013 awards included global blue-chip companies such as Caterpillar, Liebherr and Brookfield-Multiplex. The winners of the 2014 awards will be announced at a gala dinner on the night of 30 October Awards The winner of the International Construction Project of the Year award was the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai, from Brookfield Multiplex. The hotel is a twin tower complex that, at 355 m high, breaks the Guinness World Record for the World s tallest dedicated hotel. The panel of judges said it was an outstanding project that demonstrated a close working relationship between the construction team and other stakeholders, without compromising safety.
