6 BACKGROUND INFORMATION As a measure to meet its requirements for storm water quality management at LAX, LAWA has reached an agreement with the Bureau of Sanitation (LASAN), to transfer runoff from a portion of the airport property into the City s interceptor sewer system for treatment at the Hyperion Treatment Plant (HTP).

Area 2 New Storm Water Discharge Piping Above Ground. Area 3 New Storm Water Discharge Piping Below Ground. Area 4 New Vortex Structure. Area 5 New Junction Structure and Connection to the North Central Outfall Sewer. (B-permit required) (Work Within City s Easement shall be performed by city approved bonded emergency sewer contractor. Contact BOE for coordination of the work.) 18 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Area Shut Down Requests (ASR) All Work sites, lane / road closures, pedestrian detours and service road closures require ASR preparation and submission by Contractor to the Project Management Team. ASRs to be submitted 30 days prior to intended closure date ASRs require review and coordination with Operations, CALM, Airport Police, Airport Traffic Engineer, Planning and Development Group and the Shutdown Control Center. Specific shutdown guidelines described on project phasing plans and within Project Requirements Utility Shut Down Request (USR) USRs to be submitted 30 days prior to intended shutdown FAA 7460 Permit for Crane Work Activities

19 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Laydown Area Work areas and laydown space must be maintained in a neat and orderly manner Any signage and fencing must be in accordance with Project Requirements and coordinated with LAWA All work areas must be returned to pre-work conditions, satisfactory to LAWA. Designated laydown area will be provided as shown on the previous slide. Basin area and existing systems shall be clear and available for the airport facility maintenance crews at all times.

52 PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT The Purpose of the PLA Standardization Contractor Hiring Obligations All contractors and subcontractors working on LAWA PLA covered projects are required to comply with the Local Hire Requirements; Article III, Section 6, Workforce Development System. The PLA Contractor Hiring Obligations, sets forth a goal that at least 30% of each contractor s employees are local residents. 68 Program Description First Source Hiring Program (FSHP) language is contained in LAX contracts. The program requires employers and their subcontractors to participate in the program by posting their jobs with LAX. Currently, LAX contractors post their jobs on the website at Contractors can post their jobs manually or have the jobs automatically posted from their websites. Positions include: professional, administrative, concessions, security, warehouse, drivers, ramp, technical, ticket agents, etc.

69 Benefits for LAX Employers FSHP saves employers time and money Applicants apply directly on the company s website or directly on the Jobs@LAX website Applicants make their resumes searchable so employers can search hundreds of resumes for the perfect candidate at any time
