Funding is also available for efforts related to the deconstructing of materials for re-use markets. Equipment related to the implementation of a new community curbside recycling service or an expansion of an existing program. The establishment of a new or expansion of an existing material recovery facility. Facilities capable of handling or seeking to handle food waste or other compostable material and proposing to install an invessel or similar processing system. The project may include ancillary equipment supporting an in-vessel composting unit. Purchase of equipment for start-up or the expansion of drop-off recycling collection programs. Collection and processing of mixed or color separated glass. Also any manufacturing of a finished product that uses glass as a base material. Recycling collection program targeted at sporting venues and entertainment facilities.
44 2019 Community and Litter Projects Project Category Maximum Grant Request Project Examples examples are illustrative and not all-inclusive Litter Clean-up Events $40,000 Tire Amnesty Collection $40,000 Equipment, materials and supplies for an on-going litter collection effort. Also contractual costs associated with the actual collection and disposal costs of material from public land. Amnesty collection of scrap tires. Applicant is required to charge a $1.00 minimum fee as part of this grant. Outreach & Education Training $25,000 Creating new or updating current recycling & litter prevention education and training materials. Surveillance Cameras $25,000 Surveillance cameras for litter law enforcement efforts. Sponsorships (Statewide Conferences) $3,000 Sponsor statewide recycling & litter prevention conferences that promote environmental efforts and technologies. KAB Certification Fee $4,000 Certification fee for Keep America/Ohio Beautiful. KAB Annual Renewal Fee $550 Renewal fee for Keep America/Ohio Beautiful.

Paving (GTR or RAS) $300,000 Projects involving the use of ground tire rubber (GTR) or recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) or the combination of both in new paving initiatives.
