25 Keep Placer Moving Did You Know? The state and federal gas tax supply less than half the funding needed to maintain current roads, with no money for new capacity. Federal/state transportation dollars are declining and often contingent on a local funding match and strings. Developer fees are maxed out and cannot pay for existing problems. Placer County is one of the largest counties in the state with no local transportation funding.
