7 Developing leadership of prospective female business leaders Citi-KOSBI Women s Entrepreneurship Development Program Citi-KOSBI Women s Entrepreneurship Program has been in place since It is designed to further strengthen female workforce to resolve constraints to economic growth due to low birthrate and lack of labor force, and sharpen competitiveness of women-led companies by identifying role models for women entrepreneurs and providing them with ongoing training. Citi-KOSBI Women s Entrepreneurship Academy In 2008, KOSBI conducted a survey to assess demand for women s entrepreneurship programs in Korea. The results showed that women business owners were particularly interested in customized education/training sessions enabling them to develop competency and knowledge and be more competitive. As a result, Citi- KOSBI Women s Entrepreneurship Academy was established and provided training and networking opportunities to women CEOs running their own businesses. Along with this, programs to support prospective women talents in opening their own businesses and create more jobs for them have also been in place. Citi-KOSBI Women Entrepreneur Awards The awards were established in 2008 and four companies are selected each year based on the comprehensive review by a panel of women-led enterprise experts: Equipping teenagers with employability skills Citi-JA Vocational Training Program for Special High Schools (Shining Future) Citibank Korea implements Citi-JA Vocational Training for Special High Schools in partnership with Junior Achievement Korea, an international non-profit financial education organization, to support them to be better prepared for job landing. Participating teenagers acquire job skills including how to write a good resume, interview skills, relationship building, and work ethics, and join a 2-night 3-day training camp for more intensive learning during vacation. In particular, current employees and executives of Citibank Korea give them practical advice by delivering lectures and being their mentors to ensure that they will become successful members of society. Since its launch in 2015, 380 students have participated in the program from 17 schools in three cities. The corporate social responsibility program that began in July, 2011 had been run as a plan to support teenagers from multicultural families in their studying and career path identification until the first half of 2015, but the key beneficiaries changed to the students of special high schools in the second half of the same year. *Partner: Junior Achievement Korea (2011~present) For harmonious multi-cultural society Darae Class, a vocational program for teenagers with multi-cultural backgrounds Darae Class that is interpreted to mean a class for the future of the teenagers from multi-cultural families is aimed at supporting multicultural families and teenagers in vulnerable social groups to make sure that they have Award Category Entrepreneurship Eco-friendly management Human resource management Social contribution management Dason (CEO, Cho Eun-kyung) Senoco (CEO, Kim Sun-ho) Hanbiron (CEO, Han Jong-hee) Dowgene (CEO, Hwang Chunhong) Airvita (CEO, Lee Gil-soon) Mstech (CEO, Park Myung-ha) Viser (CEO, Song Mi-ran) Saessack food (CEO, Kim Haekyung) Top Drill Co., Ltd.
