2 Sport England Families Fund Deadline: (3.00pm) Sport England is making 10 million available for the first round of the new Families Fund. It has launched the new fund in response to the fact that there are currently 7 million children aged 5 to 15 in England and nearly 4 in 5 are not doing the recommended daily amount of exercise. Sport England wants to change that so that everyone in England regardless of age, background, or level of ability to feel able to engage in sport and physical activity. Sport England is providing grants of between 50,000 and 500,000 over a maximum term of four years to partners that have a successful track record in changing behaviour with families in lower socioeconomic groups. These organisations do not necessarily need to be related to sport or physical activity but they do need to be eligible to apply for National Lottery funding. Sport England may look to broker partnerships between organisations submitting Expressions of Interest where appropriate. The grants can cover both revenue and capital costs for projects that offer new activities for families with children, particularly those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, to get active and play sport together. Eligible projects must help to achieve at least one of the following three outcomes: Increase activity levels of families in lower socio-economic groups whose children are not doing 60 minutes a day of physical activity. Support families to be active together throughout the week. Deliver positive experiences. All projects must target children aged between 5 and 15 years. You need to move through each section in sequence and read all the information to get a complete picture of our criteria, what we look for in a project, what information we will need, and when is best to apply. You can also see examples of good project case studies in the Our projects section of this site.
