1 Garfield West Foundation ASA South East Region Funding Guide National Funding Opportunities The Garfield Weston Foundation supports a wide range of organisations with grants of varying sizes Grants are made to organisations working in the fields of Community, Youth, Welfare, Arts, Medical, Education, Religion and Environment. Organisations that are eligible will give young people the best chances in life from scouts, youth clubs and sports clubs to mentoring schemes (Youth Funding stream). Bag for Sport Foundation The Bag4Sport Foundation Adopt an Athlete Programme is designed to financially assist athletes who are suffering as a result of government funding cuts and now receive little or no financial assistance. The Foundation also offer a Small Grant Fund, which was set up to enable as many people as possible to benefit from sport and is available to sports clubs/projects/initiatives in need of extra financial support for their ongoing sustainability and development Individual athletes (up-and-coming, elite, able-bodied or disabled) are eligible to apply for a small grant of up to 500 to assist with training costs, kit and travel costs. Your sports club can also apply for a small grant of up to 500 to assist with the costs of coaching, equipment, kit, travel expenses etc Sport England Small Grants Sport England Small Grants uses Lottery funding to make awards of between 300 and 10,000 to not-for-profit organisations to help more people play sport. Any not-for-profit club, statutory body or educational establishment can apply for a grant; funding cannot be used for replacing equipment; only new projects are eligible

2 Sportivate Sportivate is a 56 million Lottery funded London 2012 legacy project (launched in June 2011 and running for four years) that gives more young people the chance to discover a sport that they love. Available for year-olds to gain access to six-to-eight weeks' of free or subsidised coaching in a range of sports; extended to 2017 Awards for All Awards for All England offers grants of between 300 and 10,000 for projects that address the issues, needs and aspirations of local communities and people. Awards For All will fund a wide range of community projects aimed at developing skills, improving health, revitalising the local environment and enabling people to become more active citizens You can apply to Awards for All England if you are a community group, not for profit group, parish or town council, health body or school. You must use the successful grant within one year Boost Charitable Trust Boost Charitable Trust (Building On Overlooked Sporting Talent) was created in 2005 to Build On Over-Looked Sporting Talent, to champion the disabled and disadvantaged and to inspire them to overcome their challenges through the power of sport. The Trust will only support charities or non-profit making organisations with a focus on sport. Mars Milk Play Fund Every month, 1,000 cash awards will be donated to a sports individual, club or project in need of extra funding. Whether you need new kit, travel costs, extra pitch time, coaches, training or competition entry fees, just let MARS know how they can help. At the end of each month, from May to September 2015, the entry that receives the most votes will receive the 1,000 award. Additionally, every week a panel of judges will award two applicants with a grant of 300. For more information, visit or

3 ASA South East Region SER Education Bursaries Regional Funding Opportunities The South East Region has made funding available towards the cost of ASA UKCC Courses for swim 21 accredited clubs. Awards will be made to off-set the cost of training and examinations. Maximum bursaries are: ASA/UKCC Level 1 courses 50% ASA/UKCC Level 2 courses 66% ASA/UKCC Level 3 courses 75% These bursaries will also support those candidates up-skilling from an old qualification to a new UKCC qualification The Region will also support up to 50% of the cost of the CPD course or 15 per person (whichever is the smaller amount). Funding is available towards the following CPD courses. Safeguarding and Protecting Children SCUK/IoS Coaching Disabled Performers SCUK Equity in your Coaching/Club for All SCUK Click here for the bursary application forms SER Athlete Bursaries: Exceptional Circumstances ASA South East Region will pay towards the travel and accommodation costs of athletes attending ASA or British Swimming Training Camps where such costs clearly exceed those of athletes from other Regions. Payment will be for actual costs incurred and subject to an annual limit of 400 per athlete. The South East Region will support applications from athletes who are invited to attend officially designated senior, junior or age-group training camps at national squad level. Applications are limited to athletes who meet the representation requirements of the ASA or British Swimming. To be eligible applicants must currently be: 1. Competing for, and a member of, a Club in the South East Region through which they receive their invitation to the national camps. 2. Additionally, applicants must provide evidence of invitation and level of training camps. 3. The athletes fee paying Club must be affiliated to ASA South East Region 4. The Club recognised by both the ASA and GB must be affiliated to ASA South East Region. 5. Applications will only be considered if submitted in advance of attendance at such training camps. on the SER Athlete Bursary Scheme

Please note, the County ASA Coach Education Bursary Scheme Grant is supplemental to the ASA South East Region Education Bursaries. Buckinghamshire Click here for details of the Sports Partnership Funding Zone LEAP Coach bursary To support people in Bucks & MK who are interested in coaching, a financial bursary is available which can help individuals achieve a level 1, 2 or 3 coaching qualification. The bursary can award a maximum of 75% of the course cost, up to 200 for a level 1, 250 for a level 2 and 300 for a level 3. In return you must be prepared to deliver 6 weeks of activity to new participants aged Berks and South Bucks County ASA Berks & South Bucks County ASA offer a coach education bursary scheme. 5 Kent Sport Small Grant Funding can contribute to a range of costs including sports equipment, events, coaching fees and facility hire. Kent County Council Coach and Official Scholarship Scheme (for organisations, nominating individuals) The Kent County Council Coach Scholarship Scheme provides funding for coach/official development. It seeks to increase the quantity and quality of coaches and officials in Kent, and therefore assist the development of the sport in the County. Applications are welcomed from clubs, organisations and Governing Body representatives to nominate individual coaches or officials, where it can be demonstrated that supporting the individual will contribute to the overall development of the sport within Kent. Grants will be made towards the cost of training and development opportunities for qualified or unqualified coaches or officials. Further information: Contact Stuart Butler, stuart.butler@kent.gov.uk Kent Trust for Youth Sport (organisations and individuals) The Kent Trust for Youth Sport is a charity which aims to help young people within the County to participate in sport. There are two main funding sources available: Cornwallis Sporting Excellence Awards for Individuals - The aim of the awards for individuals is to develop / support sports excellence. Awards are available to assist high level sports performers with the costs of specialist equipment and clothing, competing, travelling to competitions and training. Applicants must be aged under 21 years and should be performing at the following level: currently a member of a national team or squad, or currently listed in the top 10 of any national age group ranking, or successful in any national age group competition (top 10 finish) in the last 12 months. Deadlines: Applications will be considered twice yearly, deadline for applications is as follows: 1 June 2015 and 1 December Sports Grants for Clubs and Community Organisations - The aim of the grants to clubs and community organisations is to help young people (aged under 21 years) within the County to participate in sport. Funding is available for constituted sports clubs (noncommercial) and voluntary community organisations in financial need to help: - meet the cost of purchasing kit or equipment for youth teams / squads - pay for individuals to qualify as coaches - contribute to the costs of sports development programmes - fund sports events.

The Oxford Sports Council annually awards up to 10,000 worth of grants to Oxford City based voluntary sports clubs, organisations and individuals.
