Implementing CPTED into normal maintenance routines at existing sites can improve perceptions of safety while discouraging activities that threaten security or the positive residential experience. Video surveillance can provide significant security benefits. Choosing the right equipment can be a challenge. This presentation will better equip you to ask the right questions to ensure that the equipment you get will do what you need it to do in a cost effective manner. 2. As property professionals, we will often find ourselves being on the front line for these types of events. The time to discuss and plan for these types of situations is not after an event has happened, but rather before. 2. Ms. Ploszaj will provide the attendees with an overview on the steps that public housing authorities must take to ensure that voucher unit data is being shared with the Department of Public Health, how data will be matched and shared in return with public housing authorities. Additionally, Ms. Ploszaj will provide an overview of the key differences that are required in CT affecting the change to the Lead Safe Housing Rule in response to required lead inspections. 3. Moderator: Bob Williams, CSC Serviceworks Description: In 2015, Connecticut radically changed the manner in which homeless households gain access to the homeless service system. With the creation of 8 Coordinated Access Networks across the state, Connecticut created a single point of entry into the homeless service system. Over the next two years, Connecticut has seen reductions in homelessness and created a more efficient and streamlined system. D Amelia & Associates This is an open forum, roundtable discussion for housing authority executive directors, commissioners, and housing authority management staff to discuss on issues of concern, to share ideas, and receive feedback on the topics you want to discuss the most. 2. This session will expose Housing Authority leadership, staff involved in sufficiency programs and housing residents with Best Practices from New York City Housing Authority and Elm City Communities, as well as educating Housing Leadership about how they can meet their Section 3 obligation by working with unemployed non-residents that fulfill the Section 3 requirement. HUD Secretary Carson is promoting an active focus on the use of housing programs as a platform to improve self-sufficiency and quality of life and facilitating attrition that can help us reach more members of the community with HUD programs. The use of unemployed tradesmen underscores how Housing Authorities can market their programs as assets and opportunities for the broader community. This session is appropriate for Housing Leadership, staff working with Section 3 and FSS programs as well as residents and activists promoting increased economic opportunities for low income people. 3.
