New members are welcome! Student Council is the core of the student body - come and share your ideas, interests and concerns, teachers and school principals. Reminder to show your school spirt by wearing red & blue COLT gear on Friday. Attention SENIORS: All Cap & Gown orders are due by September 7th. Seniors may order online at or by handing in their order with payment to Mrs. Doherty in the high school office. Please see Mrs. Doherty with questions. Interact club meeting, Friday September 7th during homeroom in the DMC. All members and new members are welcome! Get your car clean and shiny this Saturday and support the CVHS chorus get on their spring trip! Come to Marathon on Rt. 50 from 9-3. GSA Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11 th in Room H2808, immediately after school until 4 pm. We will be planning for the carnival and this year's activities. Plan to attend and bring a friend! All are welcome. If you are interested in auditioning for the Fall Drama "Willy Wonka" please sign up outside the auditorium stage door. Auditions will be Tuesday, September 11th. All audition materials are DIGITAL and must be accessed on the website falldrama.cvsdtheatre.com. This link can be found on the school website. If you have any questions, see or Mrs. Giffin. The German Club will be holding its first meeting on September 12 TH from 2:40-4:00 in Frau Zollars room. Please plan on attending as we nominate and elect new club officers, plan for our upcoming carnival booth and discuss our agenda for the new school year. All German students are welcome and are encouraged to come! Please make sure to have your transportation home set up before the meeting. CVHS Blood Drive on Thursday, Sept. 27 th. You can save THREE lives by donating blood. Sign up on Thursday, September 13, in your Social Studies Class to donate blood with a representative from Central Blood Bank of Pittsburgh. All donors will receive a Penguin knitted hat (while supplies last).

2 CVHS BULLETIN 2 Pittsburgh Blood Bank Scholarship. Seniors who participate in the CV blood drives are eligible for a scholarship from the Central Blood Bank and the Family & Consumer Science Department. Last year we were awarded $2250, in scholarship money. Be sure to donate and apply by April. TLCV Tutors Needed for Primary School. You can make a difference in the life of a primary school student by being a tutor. Plan to attend the organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 9th period, in Room H2808. See Mrs. Yamatani in Room H2808, Mrs. Thomas in H2813 or Main Office for a pass Just as a reminder that the High School Open House date has changed from September19th to September 26th The PSAT/NMSQT will be given at CVHS on Wednesday, October 10th. The PSAT will be offered to all 11 th grade students free of charge. All juniors are required to take the PSAT and will be automatically registered, unless he or she has no intention of pursuing college and opts-out. If a student opts-out, he or she will be required to take the ASVAB. Any 10 th grade student who would like to take the PSAT must complete the online registration form. There is a $16.00 fee. 10th grade students with an interest in AP courses are strongly encouraged to register. Registration for 10th graders closes on September 14th. Registration will not be considered complete until the $16 registration fee has been received by the office.
