2 Community Service Participants Best Ever According to Jeff Pennington, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, the Tulsa SAME Post was the largest and most dedicated volunteers he has seen in providing much needed efforts for our State. Over 40 SAME members and their families rallied together and successfully planted 2,000 trees (pines and sand plums) at the John Lowry Management Area near Keystone Lake on Saturday, April 27. Despite the wind and cloudy conditions, our group managed to exceed Jeff s expectations by completing the targeted goal, as well as extra tree plantings in additional areas. We all owe a big THANK YOU to ALL Consulting for sponsoring this event and preparing our outdoor lunch, which was enjoyed by all. Thankfully, the rain held off until we had completed our mission AND our cookout. Thanks again to ALL Consulting for its efforts and to all those who donated their time to participate in this worthwhile and fun event! Jeff Pennington points to the flood plain that needs trees planted for wildlife conservation as eager SAME members take direction. Gene Lilly, Robert Day, Nancy and David Castro, Michael Beiry and his family, gather at the Keystone Dam office, ready to work. Over 40 Tulsa SAME members and their families planted seedlings for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation on Saturday, April 27. Loretta Turner with her daughter Ashley plant a seedling in a flood plain near the Keystone Lake. Page 2 SAME s Tulsa Post Newsletter April 2004

4 Annual SAME Golf Scholarship Tournament & Performance Based Contracting Presentation Thursday, April 29, 2004 Registration Information Shotgun Start 1 p.m. Contracting Presentation 10:30 Cookout starts at 11:30 a.m. Lunch only tickets can be purchased for $ About Clary Fields Serene, all-golf setting designed by former All-American golfer Tripp Davis, Clary Fields is nestled in a pleasant valley setting southwest of Tulsa, OK. Several holes skirt the edge of the deep woods and others are bordered by native grasses, as natural ponds and streams provide water hazards. The course offers generous fairways and greens with gentle rolls for a game of leisure. Native grasses, woods, and streams form the backdrop for a unique golfing experience just minutes from downtown Tulsa, OK. The course plays to a par of 71 at just over 6,700 yards, and length is not as crucial as accuracy. Some of the shorter par-4 holes will give options of playing it safe, along with opportunities to go for broke. The greens are positioned to be more receptive to shots coming in from the safe areas. $80 for non-military personnel $70 for military personnel and young members This cost includes range balls, GPS system, and hamburger cookout and drinks (soft drink only) prior to the round of golf. Hole sponsorships $100. Mulligans 2 for $ Please support our post activities by donating prizes and hole sponsors. or fax your registration info to Bernie Siemens at: bsiemens@stl-inc.com or FAX (phone ) Send your checks to: Bernie Siemens 6232 S.
