8 To pay tribute to the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, the Kappa Alpha Society placed 2,977 American flags near Trinity Hall overlooking the Quad as part of the annual Day of Remembrance. The HWS community lost three alumni in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001: Andrew H. Golkin 93, Scott W. Rohner 01 and Michael J. Simon 83, P 11, P 13. (Kappa Alpha) Ryan Densen 17, Sam Solomon 17, Alexis Santiago 18, Chris Gorman 17 and Matthew Skinner '17 pose for a photo with innovation expert, best-selling author and business journalist Warren Berger (right center) following his talk in the Vandervort Room on Tuesday. The Hackathon gives teams of students, faculty and staff 24 hours to generate an idea that addresses or helps solve a local or global issue. This spring marked the inaugural program.
