1 2017 HOMECOMING INFORMATIONAL GUIDE
2 My name is Nikki Anderson! I m a Fayetteville native and I m honored to be your 2017 Homecoming Director. I want to thank you on behalf of the Homecoming Steering Committee for your participation in the University of Arkansas Homecoming Celebration. These events need you and your organization to be the best they can be! Homecoming is a time where students, faculty, staff, alumni and the entire Northwest Arkansas community can celebrate how lucky we are to be members of the Razorback family! On November 18, 1922, Arkansas defeated Southern Methodist University 9-0 in the first Homecoming game in school history. This year marks the 95th anniversary of Homecoming celebrations on our campus. Homecoming is more than just a football game. It s a celebration of our school, the far-reaching effects that graduates have had all over the world, and alumni returning to an institution that helped form them into the people they are today. This year's theme is All Roads Lead Home to the Hill. No matter where you are from or where you end up after graduation, Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas hold special places in everyone s hearts. This year s theme allows students to celebrate their current time at the University and reminds alumni that the University of Arkansas is always their home! This year s Homecoming celebrations are not competition based. The Homecoming Steering Committee is so excited to see this foster an environment of collaboration, unity, and inclusion. Homecoming week is a time where all Razorbacks can participate and show their love for our great University. We are dedicated to honoring the University s rich traditions, while also encouraging new ways for everyone to show their Razorback pride. The 2017 Homecoming Steering Committee has worked diligently to prepare events that every individual will enjoy! My team and I are honored to take part in planning the days leading up to November 4, when the Arkansas Razorbacks play the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers! This guide is an informational resource for all aspects of Homecoming and offers suggestions on a range of ways to get involved in events. Look to this guide for assistance on how to showcase your University of Arkansas pride! On behalf of the Homecoming Steering Committee, Wooo Pig Sooie and Go Hogs!
