6 My Local Club Officers President - Vice President - Secretary - Treasurer - Annual Dues Annual club dues are $13 per club member which includes $5 for state dues, $7 for county dues, $1 for East District dues. The annual dues need to be paid to the County Association Treasurer by December 1st. Pennies for Friendship "Pennies for Friendship" is a way that HCE takes an active part in WAHCE and ACWW projects to promote world friendship and understanding. Members have a chance to contribute at every meeting. Twenty-five percent of the money collected stays in Wisconsin and 75% goes to help the most urgent needs of those in other parts of the world

8 Monthly Study Focus Study Focus meetings are designed to train members. The club leaders attend the study focus meeting and then take the information back to their club and teach. The teachers will receive subject matter information and techniques to help them present the material. The subject information comes from the University of Wisconsin or other research-based resources. The information will be current and reliable. Each study focus is presented at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Manitowoc County Office Complex, MCOC, unless otherwise noted. Please call your Center Chair on page 4 to register for a study focus session. The 6:00 pm session must have a minimum number of preregistrations or it will be cancelled. If you sign up for an evening session, please leave your phone number with the chair in case the session needs to be cancelled. Study Focus cancellations can be heard on WOMT 1240 AM and WCUB 980 AM radio stations HCE Lunch Bunch is available from noon to 1:00 p.m. before each study focus. Programs & Events Please contact your club president to make a reservation at least one week before the date of a study focus program. Indicate if you want to attend the afternoon or the evening program. The president will call her Center Chair, and the Center Chair will call the HCE VP of Programs with the total number of reservations. Individual members can call any of the center chairs within their calling area at least one week before the date of the program to make a reservation

Following the study focus, we will have an informal presentation on Zentangles and adult coloring books. Are We Allergic to What We Eat? Date: February 1 st Time: 1:00PM only Location: UW Extension Office Presenter: Abbey Bubolz Description: Holy Family Memorial Dietitian, Abbey Bubolz, will help shed some light on a topic that can be confusing. Learn about food allergies and intolerances as well as practical tips for managing special dietary needs. Keeping Our Brain Fit as We Age Date: March 1 st Time: 1:00PM and 6:00PM Location: UW Extension Office Presenter: Kim Jackquart Franzen, Dementia Care Specialist - 9 -
