Dr. Marilyn McNeil Vice President and Director of Athletics THE BLUE/WHITE CLUB MISSION STATEMENT The Blue/White Club, founded in 1999, is a group of alumni, friends, trustees, parents, employees and students who share a passion for Monmouth University Athletics. Working in collaboration with the Office of University Advancement, The Blue/White Club strives to accomplish the following goals: Raise funds specifically in support of Monmouth University Department of Athletics Enhance the NCAA Division I experience of current Monmouth University student-athletes by providing increased funding Provide greater opportunities for student-athlete recruitment and visibility, both regionally and nationally Reconnect alumni to their alma mater Promote a Commitment to Excellence in the classroom and on the playing fields Through The Blue/White Club, special recognition is accorded to you and hundreds of other generous donors who contribute each year. 4 RECENT HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS Athletics Men s soccer claimed its fourth consecutive Northeast Conference Regular Season Championship and Angelo Amato was named the NEC Men s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year, while Daniel Bostock and Ryan Kinne joined him on the all-league first team.. Women s Indoor Track & Field claimed its third straight Northeast Conference Championship. Women s Soccer student-athlete Joanna DeMoor and Alessandra DeTata were named First Team All-NEC. Football placed nine Hawks on the all-conference teams, while David Sinisi was named the NEC s Offensive Player of the Year, Kevin Walsh earned Defensive Player of the Year honors and Jose Gumbs claimed the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Sinisi and Walsh were also named to the Third Team Associated Press All-American Team. Baseball won a school-record 37 games and won the NEC Regular Season Championship. Field Hockey placed three, seniors Enza Mazza and Molly Passarella and junior Sarah Keppel, on the allconference second team. Softball s Nichole Alvarez led the nation with a.480 batting average, also establishing a new Northeast Conference record. Academics 144 student-athletes have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, while 119 earned Dean s List honors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The average cumulative GPA of Monmouth University s 432 student-athletes is Women s soccer and field hockey teams tied for the highest team GPA with a 3.42 cumulative mark each. Women s soccer team earned the NSCAA Academic Team Award for the 11 th straight season. THE BLUE/WHITE CLUB PRIORITY POINTS BEGINNING IN 2000 The Blue/White Club priority point system has been established to provide a systematic, orderly, fair and equitable process to prioritize requests for tickets, special event invitations and other benefits. Priority points may affect future opportunities such as priority parking, seating arrangements and NCAA ticket purchases. Priority points uses a comprehensive measure that represents every participant s support and association within the Athletic Department.
