Have you purchased your ribbons yet? They are $18 in advance per person for the entire weekend; $20 per person at the door. Tom Miller (Pennsylvania) and Jack Lewis (Florida) will be calling and Susan Snider (Jacksonville) will be cueing. Free parking and free onsite dry camping for the first ten rigs to arrive. There will be workshops in squares and rounds during the day and a dance on Friday and Saturday nights. The Flowing Figures will also be entertaining us on Saturday night Florida State Convention March 24 25, 2017 Please note that the 2017 convention will not be during Memorial Day weekend in 2017 due to the scheduled renovation at the Lakeland Center. Ribbons, raffle tickets, convention buttons, and cookbooks are available for sale. The ribbons are $27 per person in advance for the entire weekend; $30 at the door. If you purchase your tickets now and find that your plans change later and you won t be able to attend the convention, your money will be cheerfully refunded up until the registration window opens on Friday morning. Penny is selling ribbons. The raffle tickets are for a Fire HD 8 Tablet. The tickets are one for $2 and seven for $5. The drawing will be held November 12 th during the Fall Fun Fest. You do not have to be present for the drawing. Nice Christmas present for someone! The Slocums and Penny are selling raffle tickets. The convention buttons are $1 a piece. 2 What Can I Take To The Dance? is a cookbook full of finger food and snack recipes submitted by dancers. These are being sold for $10 apiece. Don and Ann Slocum are selling these cookbooks in the West Coast Association area Florida State Convention Even though it seems this convention is a long time off, it is time to start working on the many aspects of putting a convention together. One of the first things that needs to be accomplished is to fill all the committees. There are still several openings that need to be filled. Even if you don t want chair a committee but would like to help out with something, please contact the chairman, Lewis and Linda Wasserman, at lewiswasserman@gmail.com and lindawasserman0@gmail.com. 3 Dee Barnes Vincent, a former Buttons & Bows member, recently lost her husband Ray. His memorial service will be at a later date. Ray never learned to square dance but he always participated in whatever he could.
