If you would like to send in a donation, we will still be accepting them tomorrow so please send it in! Items that were requested: diapers (sizes 3-6), baby wipes, gently worn or new clothing from infant to size 4T, Similac, small containers of baby food, and Walmart gift cards. Thank you for your donations! KINDRAISER REMINDER - EARN A NO UNIFORM TODAY PASS Don t forget to share your Kindraiser page. The class on each floor with the most new donations this week will earn a dress down day on Friday, May 11th. Share your Kindraiser page with as many people as you can! WRITING ASSESSMENTS & DIBELS TESTING It is very important that students do not miss school next week (May 14-17) as teachers will be administering DIBELS tests and writing assessments. Thank you! SPIRIT SHOW Save the date for our annual Spirit Show on Thursday, May 17th at 7:00 P.M. The updated dress code for the Spirit Show is as follows: khaki pants, shorts, or skorts (appropriate length), along with an OLG Spiritwear shirt. All students

2 are expected to participate in the Spirit Show, but if your child cannot attend, you must fill out the form included in Mail Day last week, with the student s name and the reason they cannot participate and return it to the school office by Monday, May 14th. Any student who does not participate in the Spirit Show will be given an assignment to complete by Mr. Berkey. ASCENSION THURSDAY Ascension Thursday is tomorrow, Thursday, May 10th and our students will attend the 9:00 A.M. Mass. All are welcome to attend. Please remember that our 2nd graders and 8th graders are asked to wear their First Communion and Confirmation attire to Mass as they will take class pictures at the church after Mass. SPORTS BANQUET RSVP S DUE NOW The Athletic Association Sports Banquet is on Saturday, May 19th at 7:00 P.M. RSVP s with payment were due today. If you want to attend please send in your RSVP and payment by tomorrow, Thursday, May 10th. CAFETERIA Overdue notices are being sent home or mailed on May 4th. Please take care of these ASAP! If a child does not pay, they should bring the owed payment within 3 days. SCHOOL OFFICE SUMMER HOURS Office hours for the school over the summer will be as follows: June 11th - 15th Beginning June 18th July 2nd - 6th 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M., Monday - Thursday. The office will be closed on Fridays all summer. Office will be closed all week. OLG PARISH ANNUAL MAY CROWNING - MAY 13TH The annual Parish May Crowning will be held on Sunday, May 13th immediately following the 9:30 A.M. Mass. All First Communicants are invited to attend and are encouraged to dress up in their First Communion attire for this occasion. There will be reserved pews in the front of church for the First Communicants and their families. All will be invited to process to the Marian Chapel for this May Crowning devotional to honor the Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Grace. PRIMARY PROM PICTURES Primary Prom pictures will be sent home this week. A big THANK YOU to Kim Sherman for taking the photos. Please contact Jessica Heckroth at jess0314@verizon.net if you don t receive your picture by Friday. KENNYWOOD DAY - OLG PAVILION OLG s Kennywood Day is on Friday, May 18th. Kennywood has reserved Pavilion 10 for our school. It is located behind the Jack Rabbit. KENNYWOOD DAY - BUS TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE Chartiers Valley School District runs a bus from Scott Township (OLG School parking lot) to Kennywood Park on Kennywood Day, Friday, May 18th. The cost is $4 and must be paid in cash upon boarding the bus. Pick up time is 10:00 A.M. at OLG. The departure time from Kennywood to return to the OLG parking lot is 8:00 P.M. There is no advance seating - it is first come, first served. PANERA FUNDRAISER - MAY 23RD Save the date for our Panera Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 23rd from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Panera on Washington Pike in Bridgeville.

3 2018 SPIRIT SHOW Once Upon a Time May 17, :00 P.M. Miller Pavilion Students must report to their homerooms at 6:45 P.M. STUDENT ATTIRE: All students should wear khaki pants, shorts, or skorts (appropriate length), along with an OLG Spiritwear shirt. Buy a treat from the Kona Ice trucks that will be here after the Spirit Show! SPIRITWEAR We have some Spiritwear items available for sale. Stop by the school to pick up some new Spiritwear. OUR LADY OF THE SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL NEWS Rally for McNally 5K, 1 Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run - Join OLSH on Saturday, June 9, for the Rally for McNally 5K, 1 Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run! The 5K and 1 Mile will begin at 9:00 A.M. The cost is $25, which includes a dri-fit t-shirt, timing, racing bib, and refreshments. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female runners in each age group and overall. Children ages 3-8 can participate in a Fun Run, beginning at 10:00 A.M. The cost is $10, which includes a t-shirt, medal (for all), and a snack. Register online at Proceeds benefit the Michael McNally Endowed Scholarship fund. Notre Dame Exploring the Chemical World Camp - Presented by the University of Notre Dame s Center for STEM Education, this camp focuses on chemical investigations the first week, highlighted by experiments and computer simulations exploring chemical phenomena and gas behavior, and discusses the engineering design cycle in the second week, with an Engineering is Elementary investigation and water filtration challenge. The two-week camp is for students entering grades 6-8 in the fall, and will take place Tuesday, June 19 through Friday, June 29 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Register online at
