2 Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) WHAT IS IT? Centrally funded commanders program Provides transition assistance services to eligible Soldiers Public Law & the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 are the foundation of the Transition Assistance Program initiative, along with DOD and Army policy. All Soldiers completing 180 days of continuous Active Duty service are required to meet the VOW/Career Readiness Standards (CRS). Eligible Soldiers will begin receiving transition counseling and employment assistance 18 months prior to transitioning from Active Duty or 24 months prior to retirement. 2 of 10

Accessing Higher Education / Vocational/Technical Training; requirements are: Assessment to identify aptitudes interests, strengths, and skills Comparison of academic or training institution choice College, university, or technical training application or acceptance letter Confirmation of one-on-one counseling with a college, university, or technical institution advisor or counselor b. Entrepreneurship Track 3 of 10

Program has counselors and staff world-wide, including mobile transition teams to support the National Guard and Army Reserves at both the home and demobilization stations. 5 Fort Benning Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program Spring Hiring Event 27 April 2017 **Global Reach** The Fort Benning SFL-TAP team hosted its first ever live Facebook broadcast during the Spring Hiring Event The top 10 locations connected were GA, AL, TX, KY, IN, FL, OH, LA, Seoul Korea and NC. There were 12,437 connections made and 3,435 viewed the Facebook live video. Lieutenant Colonel Adam Grim, Soldier for Life Employment Director supported our event by doing a live Facebook video. 6 Fort Benning Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) Hosted the first United States Secret Service Pilot - Army Entry Level Assessment Center (ELAC) October 2016 More than 800 candidates from across the United States applied for Secret Service positions, largely as a result of job announcement marketing efforts of the Fort Benning SFL-TAP Team. Secret Service agents made maximum use of the facility and were able to conduct up to 17 interviews simultaneously. Interviews began as soon as testing was complete and went as late as Approximately 180 Pre-screened candidates attended to take the POST test (3 Hour written test). Test results were favorable as approximately 60% of the candidates passed and moved on to the interview process. 6 of 10

7 Fort Benning Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program Employer Tour 27 January 2017 **11 Employers attended** Employers braved the cold and wind at the Rangers in Action Demonstration while Soldiers led the tour and answered questions familiarizing employers with the skills the Soldiers learn during training at Fort Benning. Employers were given the opportunity to observe the Rangers in Action demonstration, Parachute Riggers demonstration, Bradley Training Center and Simulator Training. The tour resulted in leaders from AXA Advisors, Albany Police Department, FedEx and Infotech Prism met qualified candidates for the positions they are trying to fill in a variety of positions. All employers expressed a desire to pursue opportunities with the Fort Benning Career Skills Program (CSP).
