16 Academy issues a call for applications for the following year s research theme, and invites scholars from North America and Europe to apply to become residential fellows. Interested students are encouraged to keep an eye on the Academy s website for updates: Truman Scholarships The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation awards merit-based scholarships to college students who wish to attend graduate school or law school in preparation for careers in government or elsewhere in public service oriented non-profit organizations. Scholars may attend graduate schools in the United States or in foreign countries. The Foundation defines public service as employment in: government at any level, uniformed services, public-interest organizations, non-governmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private schools, and public-service oriented non-profit organizations such as those whose primary purposes are to help needy or disadvantaged persons or to protect the environment.
