1 THE OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS SOUTH CAROLINA ALLIANCE FOR MOBILE INFRASTRUCTURE SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS The South Carolina Alliance for Mobile Infrastructure (formerly TSAC) is offering a scholarship to one undergraduate student and one graduate student to attend and present at the Alliance Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC February 19-21, The scholarship winners will be honored with the chance to present on a transit related topic during the session Emerging Research in Transit on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 3 pm. This scholarship is open to any student pursuing a specific project or interest in transit issues. Each scholarship is in the amount of $675, which covers the full cost of the conference registration, two night stay in the conference hotel, and a $50 gas card. The deadline is January, 28 th. Notice of awards will be February 2 nd. Eligibility Requirements: Sophomore or higher undergraduate or graduate student GPA of 3.0 or higher Currently enrolled in a degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics. Plans to pursue a specific project or interest in transit issues. 2 The South Carolina Alliance For Mobile Infrastructure Annual Conference Student Scholarship The South Carolina Alliance For Mobile Infrastructure (Alliance), originally began as the Transportation Association of South Carolina in 1981, bringing together public and human service providers, state agencies, private providers, and vendors to promote public transit in South Carolina and act as an advocate to promote transit friendly legislation. To continue to ignite passion for transit in South Carolina, the Alliance is encouraging students to pursue career paths in transit. This scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate student and one graduate student pursuing studies in transit or related field. The Alliance Annual Conference Student Scholarship is in the amount of $675, which covers the full conference registration, two night stay in the conference hotel and a $50 gas card. The minimum criteria for selection are as follows: a. Open to sophomore level or higher undergraduate and graduate level students b. GPA of 3.0 or higher c. Currently enrolled in a degree program in a transportation-related field, such as transportation engineering, planning, finance, or logistics d. Plans to pursue a specific project or interest in transit issues Applications must be submitted through the Scholarship Committee. The scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant s specific goals for involvement in transit, job skills, and academic record. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Awards will be presented during lunch at the Annual Conference on Friday, February 20, The scholarships recipients will also be expected to participate in a panel entitled Emerging Research in Transit on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 3pm.
