1 LOS ANGELES POLICE RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE FOUNDATION 2015 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The Los Angeles Police Relief and Assistance Foundation (LAPRAF) will be awarding four $10,000 scholarships to graduating seniors for the 2015 fall school term. The scholarships will be distributed at a rate of $2,500 per school year over the next four years for a total of $10,000. Please continue reading for details on the eligibility requirements to apply for a scholarship. Scholarship applications are available on the LAPRA website or can be picked up at the Los Angeles Police Relief Association (LAPRA) office. Scholarship applications and school transcripts can be submitted to the LAPRA office via FAX, (213) , or dropped off at the LAPRA office no later than May 15, If after reading the eligibility requirements and viewing the application you have any questions, please feel free to contact either of the following people: Paul Enox Dana Berns Lieutenant Ruby Malachi (310) (818) (213) Eligibility Requirements Students must be high school seniors at the time they apply. Applications and the student s most recently available school transcripts must be submitted no later May 15 th of the calendar year the student plans on entering college. Students must have achieved at least a 2.5 GPA in high school. Students must have a parent or a legal guardian who is a member of The Los Angeles Police Relief Association. Continuing Eligibility Requirements Students must maintain full-time student status at an accredited college or university (9 units or more). Students scholarship funding will permanently cease if they drop out of college unless it is for a valid emergency (valid emergencies shall be determined by the scholarship committee) or for entry into the United States military forces. Students scholarship funding will permanently cease if they fail to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA. Students scholarship funding will permanently cease if they are arrested and convicted of a felony. Proof of continued full-time student status and GPA will be required at the beginning of each school year. The necessary information shall be submitted to the LAPRA office prior to the beginning of each school year. IMPORTANT: ELIGIBLE STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR ONE OF THE 2015 SCHOLARSHIPS SHALL SUBMIT BOTH AN APPLICATION AND THE STUDENT S MOST RECENTLY AVAILABLE SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS TOGETHER TO LAPRA NO LATER THAN MAY 15, APPLICATIONS RECEIVED WITHOUT THE STUDENT S MOST RECENTLY AVAILABLE SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
