2 How to Pay for College Financial aid is money the government and other organizations give or lend you to cover college costs. There are four main types: Grants- money you don t pay back Loans- borrowed money you have to pay back with interest Work-study programs- paid part-time jobs Scholarships- free gift aid!
3 Scholarship Search Tips Spend your time on local scholarships! Odds of winning are greater because they re open to a smaller applicant pool. Apply to scholarships with small awards Money adds up, so apply for the little ones too! More work= fewer applicants= better chances Students typically shy away from harder applications so your chances of winning are better.
