1 SCHOLARSHIP LISTING Alworth Scholarship Deadline: January 15, 2018 Amount: $20,000 Criteria: To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must: be a U.S. citizen graduating from a high school in one of the following Minnesota counties: Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, and St Louis. have a composite score of 26 or higher on the American College Test (ACT). (SAT scores not accepted.) have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. commit to major in one of the designated fields of study. have demonstrated qualities of character, perseverance and ambition. have a high scholastic standing among their peers. be from a family whose taxable income (IRS 1040, page2) is less than $120,000. Website: Burger King Scholarship Deadline: December 15, Up to $50,000 Criteria: High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale to be eligible, and must be active in their community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations. Website: Cloquet Community and Business Scholarship/Education Minnesota Scholarship Deadline: January 26, 2018 Amount: $200 - $2500 Criteria: Awards will be made based on participating in school and community activities, academic achievement, and appropriateness of high school course selections, character, leadership, and financial need. Payment of the awards will be made following completion of Semester I with enrollment verification for Semester II to those winners attending a post-secondary institution. 2 Community Involvement Scholarship Deadline: January 15, 2018 Amount: $2,000 Criteria: Seniors who *Are full time high school seniors; *Reside in the Minnesota Power service area and *Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher are welcome to apply. Interested students should complete & submit the Minnesota Power Community Involvement Scholarship Application by January 15th. A complete application will include the application form, supporting documentation from community leaders, reports on any volunteer activities and a high school transcript. Website: Continuing Education Scholarship Deadline: February 15, 2017 Amount: (4) $1,000 Criteria: Must be 18. Website: Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation Scholarships Deadline: January 15, 2018 Criteria: Review the appropriate scholarship grids at the website below. These grids show the main criteria for each scholarship. Some have special academic criteria (top 25%, 2.5 or greater GPA); some have financial need requirements; others have requirements about where you will study or what you will major in. 3 Flavorful Futures Scholarship Deadline: February 15, 2018 Amount: (5) $5,000 Criteria: Applications will be evaluated based not only on academic achievement but on the creativity of student submissions. The scholarship is intended to showcase what makes the recipients who they are and how they place to contribute their gifts through further education. Website: Future Assisted Living Scholarship Deadline: December 31, 2017 Amount: (3) $2,000 Criteria: The annual scholarship award is for three (3) students enrolled in an associate's degree, bachelor's degree or graduate level program at an accredited 2-year college or 4-year university. Website: GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program Deadline: January 4, 2018 Amount: Up to $40,000 Criteria: To be eligible for this award, applicants must: demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship; demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent); be citizens of the United States of America; be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year. 4 Hagen Scholarship Foundation Deadline: November 15, 2017 Amount: Up to $40,000 Criteria: The Hagan Scholarship is a need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students in need of financial assistance to attend college. These students will graduate from a public high school located in a county in the United States having fewer than 50,000 residents Website: Harbor Pointe Credit Union Scholarship Deadline: Amount: (4) $1,500 Criteria: Applicant must be a current Harbor Pointe Credit Union member or become a member by application deadline to be considered for scholarship A grade point average of 3.0 or higher Application to an accredited college, university or technical school Website: Hebert Kennedy Auxiliary to Post No Scholarship Deadline: April 1, 2018 Amount: $1,000 Criteria: Seniors Application available in the CHS Counseling Office Marguerite E. Weiss Memorial Scholarship Deadline: April 6, 2018 Amount: (2) $500 Criteria: The Marguerite E. Weiss Memorial Scholarship is in memory of Marguerite Weiss who was a business teacher in the Wrenshall School District. This scholarship is given by her husband who was a Math Teacher and Junior High Principal in Cloquet. Marguerite never had children but always wanted a daughter. She also knew the difficulty of being in the top of the class. This scholarship is designated to go to a female interested in attending college but does not necessarily need to be In the top of class. Application: Available in the CHS Counseling Office.

5 Marguerite L. Gilmore Family Scholarship Criteria: Applicants must be in the upper 8 th percentile of their graduating class. Applicants must demonstrate traits of high personal character and leadership. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate study of teaching, business or engineering at an accredited four-year college or vocational-technical school in the US for the entire upcoming academic year. You may begin applying on November 15, 2017 at the website below. Website: MWGA Foundation Scholarship Deadline: March 31, 2018 Amount: $3,000 Criteria: This scholarship is for women who are high school seniors in Minnesota. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate an interest or involvement in golf, intend to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university the year they submit the application, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be US citizens. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, continued financial need, and quality of character as demonstrated by civic and academic activities Applications: Available in the CHS Counseling Office National Co-op Scholarship Program Deadline: February 15, 2018 Criteria: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better and apply for the academic year at one the WACE Partner Institutions. Mitchell Scholarship Deadline: January 15, 2018 Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors at public or private high schools located in Duluth, MN, and northeastern MN. (Carlton, Cloquet, Esko, Hermantown, Proctor, Two Harbors, Albrook and Wrenshall) Be worthy and promising and in the upper twenty-percent of their class. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

7 The George and Helen Medich Family Scholarship Deadline: April 3, 2018 Amount: $1500 Criteria: Seniors with a 3.2 or better GPA entering the field of Medicine or Pharmacy. Students must maintain the 3.2 GPA throughout their first 1 ½ years of college. The scholarship will be awarded after the first semester of the 2 nd year of college. A 600 word essay explaining your plans for college and why this scholarship would be fitting for you is required. Submit completed essay to Mrs. Mielke. Application: Available in the Counseling Office Voice of Democracy Scholarship Deadline: Amount: $1,000 - $30,000 Criteria: Any student grades 9-12 Website: World Class Scholarship Program Deadline: February 16, 2018 Amount: 55 ($1,000) Criteria: Just like most families, the Mediacom family believes in the importance of higher education. As a corporation with strong community roots, we wanted to support, in some way, the higher education of our customers. For this reason, we formed World Class The Mediacom Scholarship Program to help graduating high school students with their college expenses, such as tuition and books.
