Over twenty-five years of providing training and support for child care providers, building capacity, and developing programs to enhance quality. Professional Development Opportunities This bi-annual publication provides information about training sessions offered by our agency. All sessions are presented by highly qualified part-time staff. Certificates are provided to document your professional development, interactive learning experiences, current best practice information for early childhood professionals...all at affordable prices. We look forward to offering some of the new PDIS courses in a Face-2-Face (F2F) format so that you are able to interact with a person and still receive your credits through the PDIS portal. We are also available for consultation and provision of customized training sessions provided at community locations throughout our service delivery area, early childhood professional organizations, or child care centers. Classes are held at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood unless otherwise indicated. There is a fee of $25.00 assessed for payments not honored by your financial institution. Competencies addressed: PDL 5.2 Uses local, state and national professional resources to reflect on, evaluate, and improve professional practices. And Sarah Brenkert, M.S.Ed. Nicole Ortiz is trained in Cognitive Coaching, ECERS-R observation, CLASS observation, and reflective supervision. As a Buell Fellow she focused on developing training around family engagement and now is a Doctoral Student. Sarah Brenkert is committed to developing environments and experiences that reveal the competence and power of young children. Environments send powerful messages. How we furnish a room, select materials, and allocate time and space reveal what we believe about children, and what we value in our classroom community. This interactive workshop will scaffold, reflect and dialogue on how environmental design can promote comfort and self-regulation for children and invite meaningful exploration and engagement. A toolkit for mapping classroom design to the ITERS, ECERS, and other standard measures of environmental quality will be provided and explored.
