2 Welcome We would like to invite interested cath lab workers of all disciplines and other allied professionals looking after cardiac patients to a cath lab basics course run by BCIS. The course is over 2 days at The Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre, Clydebank, near Glasgow on March 16th and 17th and includes a comprehensive range of topics such as cath lab setup and radiographic views, understanding ECGs, cath lab emergencies, drugs and equipment used in the cath lab, access site choice and patient journeys. The course is intended to be very interactive with break-out groups, hands-on sessions and case discussions. 5 GENERAL INFORMATION Registration There is no registration fee for this BCIS two day course. Venue The Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre, Beardmore Street, Glasgow, G81 4SA (adjacent to ). Travel Delegates are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Glasgow. Travel Bursaries A limited number of bursaries are available to those travelling a distance to this Course. Application for this should be indicated on the registration form. Selection will be made at the discretion of the organisers and you will be notified in due course if you have been successful in your application. By Air Glasgow International Airport, situated at Junction 28a, M8 to the West of Glasgow is approximately a 15 minute drive from the Conference Centre. By Rail Glasgow Central Station is approximately a 25 minute drive from the Conference Centre. Bus Routes The nearest bus stop is on Dumbarton Road, which is also just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Regular services run towards Glasgow and Dumbarton, Balloch and Helensburgh. From Glasgow city centre you can take the First Glasgow Bus Nos: 6, 1, 1A, 1B. Please note that the number 62 takes you only as far as Clydebank bus terminal. Parking The venue has free parking for delegates. Overnight Accommodation Hotel accommodation, including breakfast for the night of Monday 16th March is offered at the Beardmore Hotel. For those requesting accommodation, a refundable payment of is asked to secure the booking.
