1 CONFLUENCE HERITAGE SOCIETY LEGO BUILDING COMPETITION DATE: July 1 st, am-10pm LOCATION: Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site DROP OFF TIMES: All entries must be submitted by 5pm on June 27 th. Enter the Confluence Heritage Society s LEGO Building competition. Use your own plastic LEGO Bricks to make an original LEGO creation based on this year s theme: THE FUR TRADE IN CANADA Eligibility: Open to anyone with an imagination. Categories below.adults we know you can play with LEGO too. ONE ENTRY PER PARTICIPANT. Age Categories: 7 years & under 8-11 years years years Adult Family (submission by parents and children together) Judging Criteria: Building Skill Building skill demonstrated (based on entrant's age) Creativity and Originality Interpretation of the Theme How well does it represent THE FUR TRADE IN CANADA? All voting will be done by viewer s choice on Tuesday July 1 st 2014 as a part of the Canada Day Celebration. Prizes will be awarded on July 2 nd 2014 to all winners. BUILDING CONTEST RULES: Use your own LEGO bricks and elements to build an original creation at home. Then bring your completed creation to the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site for display and judging. Use only genuine LEGO bricks, elements, and pieces. Non-Lego embellishments may be added but the build must be made from LEGO. Constructions made from specialty themed LEGO kits are not eligible and will be disqualified, although elements from specialty kits may be used in original designs. Designs must be original. Only ONE creation per person (a family counts as one person) may be entered. Your creation must be no taller than 4 ft.

2 Entries must be delivered in person to the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site, between the hours of 10am and 5pm on or before Friday June 27 th Entries must be brought ready to be displayed, secured with no loose parts. Construction will not be permitted on site. All entries must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form. You may complete your form when you drop off. Alternatively forms are available at the Historic Site commencing May 12 th, or you can contact and request an copy. Public viewing and judging will begin at 10 am.

3 The winners will be announced and contacted no earlier than 2pm Wednesday July 2, Contest entries MUST be removed from Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site by the following Wednesday July 9 th 2014 during the hours of 10am-5pm. PRIZES: Prizes will be award in each age category. There are also Mayor s choice awards to be assigned. LIABILITY: All possible care will be taken in the handling of entries. Entrants accept the Confluence Heritage Society and its partners are not responsible for loss of or damage to any entry. By entering the contest, all participants and/or their legal guardians agree to release the contest sponsors and the Confluence Heritage Society and partners of all liability that could result from participating in the contest, attending the contest, or the awarding of contest prizes. The contest and all participants may be photographed and videotaped. By submitting an entry into this contest, entrants and their parents/guardians hereby grant permission to Confluence Heritage Society and sponsors to use any photographs of the entrant or the entrant s submitted model for any promotional use. Last names will not be used on the Confluence Heritage Society s website or any other form of publication. By submitting an entry form and creation into this contest, entrants and their parents/guardians agree to these official rules and regulations and decisions of the viewer s choice vote.
