3 GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT OFFICE Following the growing concern of the vast development of the UGM's internationalization agenda and the establishment of ASEAN Community, Prof. Pratikno, the former Dean initiated the establishment of this office. As UGM in general and our faculty in particular had set up countless partnerships with numerous international institutions such as universities, research centres, and NGOs around the world, Prof. Pratikno believed that it is imperative that we also set up a unit at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in which all of its international affairs are managed. Global Engagement Office in its almost fourth year anniversary has been performing as the avantgarde in the faculty's international cooperation which resulted in the hosting of international students and events, the coordinating unit for the joint research program and other numerous forms of partnerships. Following this spirit, Global Engagement Office always try its best to engage with international community and in this regards, hosting an annual program is the most challenging and effective part in galvanizing its partnership and cooperation.

4 ASEAN Young Socialpreneurs Program BACKGROUND ASEAN Community and its implementation in the coming years Coming up with the idea of integration, ASEAN Community is essentially a regional development agenda to promote mutual understanding and common responsibility as Southeast Asian Nations through regional integration. ASEAN Community emphasizes on political security, economic, and social-cultural to reach the regional integration goals. While the realization of ASEAN Community is seen as politically-driven agenda, however it will bring huge impact for almost whole aspects of life. As its consequences, ASEAN citizens are demanded to prepare the implementation of ASEAN Community. In terms of economy, the coming agenda ASEAN Economic Community is indeed as important agenda to be assessed. ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015 is a platform for all ASEAN member states to enhance the economic cooperation in order to foster the regional integration. AEC 2015 can be seen as an effort to ensure all economic-relations in ASEAN based on the ASEAN Community goal, which in the end will indirectly embrace ASEAN citizens to compete in the globalized world. AEC 2015 is very important for us, especially young generation. Contrasting ideality and reality Currently, there are 75 million youth unemployed globally and 40 per cent of them is in the Asia and Pacific region. The global economic crisis in 2008 resulted in significant number increase of youth unemployment, 7 million more youth unemployed as the aftermath of the crisis. This fact has brought fears and anxiety not only to the government, most significantly to the society. The welfare of society is determined by the number of income which is resulted from the employment itself. The idea of ASEAN Economic Community is predicted and aimed to meet the reality of the increasing number of unemployment, especially in Southeast Asia region. However, ASEAN Economic Community would be possible happened only if the government along with the society could execute tangible programs and actions. Social Entrepreneurship as a tangible action to overcome social problems and unemployment in ASEAN The increasing number of unemployment which affects the economic stability and society's welfare is actually caused by the quality of human resources. People especially youth do not have high quality of education and capacity-building, in addition without a proper link to the labor markets especially in countries with poor economic stability and prolonged conflict. This problem must be put into high concern of the government and society as well. Therefore, socialpreneur can be seen as an effort to overcome these ongoing problems of unemployment in the entire region of Southeast Asia.

5 The importance of social entrepreneurship A definition was developed by J. Gregory Dees, widely considered to be the father of the field of social entrepreneurship (1998), is one of concepts that can be used to emphasize the importance of social entrepreneur. Social entrepreneurs play the role of change agents in the social sector by: a.adopting a mission to create and sustain social value (not just private value); b.recognizing and relentlessly pursuing new opportunities to serve that mission; c.engaging in the process of continuous innovation, adaptation, and learning; d.acting boldly without being limited by resources currently in hand; e.exhibiting a heightened sense of accountability to the constituencies served and for the outcomes created. Thus, social entrepreneurship is sort of direct action in which necessary to be done by society especially youth. The involvement of youth in the fields could positively impact to a strong leadership experience and it gives real atmosphere of economic competition among countries in this globalized era. Youth could deeply understand the recent economic issues and challenges as well as practically involved to overcome social problems in its surroundings. ASEAN Young Socialpreneurs Program 2015 Considering the idea of successfully making ASEAN Economic Community possible through youth involvement, Global Engagement Office (GEO) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences initiates an ASEAN Young Socialpreneurs Program. This program is designed to present and introduce the concept of social entrepreneurship in the recent world and its context to the regional economic stability. GEO has shown its concern upon the importance of youth involvement to drive an effective and efficient economy, therefore this program aims to give wide and better understanding about social entrepreneurship and its practical experiences through a week interesting and exciting program and activities. The program includes business plan competition, workshop on social entrepreneurship, excursion, and cultural program. On one hand students will get to know the characteristic of social entrepreneurship and confidence-building to start up a new business in order to overcome social problems, but on the other hand students will also compete to one another in creating a significant business plan in order to get ready to analyze social problems in their surroundings.
