Expertise and past experience on projects of similar size, scope and features Qualifications and experience of the project manager Recent experience / history Experience in CPSM/BCOM procedures Use of small businesses as consultants, subcontractors, suppliers or support services. Size of the firm relative to the size of the project Financial Responsibility Interview Tips: 1. Bring the staff that will be assigned to the project 2. Be project specific 3. Know your client 4. Follow Agency instructions 5. Address all selection criteria particularly scope, schedule, cost 6. Creativity and value added services 7. Don t talk too long

21 Other Expectations (From my experience) 1. Timeliness School calendar creates compressed schedules! 2. Adhere to cost constraints All state agencies are not similarly resourced! 3. Be practical Campuses are small towns where people live. Would you want to live near your project? 3. Offer value added design Operating costs are just as important as design/construction costs! Be visionary! 4. Communicate often and with clarity Do you know what we want? Do we understand the details? 5. Offer solutions Don t just leave your issues at the Problem Portal!
