5 One year removed from one of its best seasons ever, the Hobart tennis team enters the season with high expectations and a confidence that it can surpass that success. Under the guidance of Head Coach Carol Weymuller, the Statesmen reached new heights in 2004, capturing the Liberty League tennis title for the first time in eight years and recording a program-record 17 wins. Returning four of its top six players, including the 2004 Liberty League Co- Player of the Year in Peter Piné, Hobart has the necessary tools to win its second straight league crown. Hobart s top player the past four seasons, Piné will start the year ranked 17th in the Northeast Region after posting a 20-6 record last year. Junior Adam Raffa and sophomore Matt Silver will man the second and third spots after compiling 15-1 and 17-5 records, respectively, and earning spots on the All-Liberty League Singles team. The remaining three spots are less certain for Hobart. First-years Charlie Davis and Nick Raho will battle between the fourth and fifth positions, while sophomore Matt Jacobus could round out the top six. Sophomore Mike Klein and junior Derrick Moore also have the potential to step up into the starting six. DATE OPPONENT RESULT March 12-20, at Hilton Head, S.C. Mar 9 vs. Salve Regina...
