Mini Workshops Advocacy in Uncertain Times: The regulatory landscape of the Trump transition with Chris Brooks Location: Terrace 123 This mini-workshop will include a general discussion of the current state of federal environmental regulatory policy, with a particular focus on the Trump administration s efforts to dismantle regulations relating to water quality and climate change. We will also consider potential roadblocks to those efforts, and discuss a variety of strategies advocates can use to forestall or prevent de-regulation.

You will learn how to: Create (or modify your current) LinkedIn profile to market and brand yourself effectively Strengthen and extend your network of professional contacts Gain access to the GMC Alumni LinkedIn Groups and Find Alumni platform Join industry groups to connect with and reach out to fellow members Introduce yourself to people who can help you along your career path Research companies in your target location and areas of interest Explore job leads and take advantage of professional opportunities Bring your own laptop if you want to follow along throughout the presentation, or feel free to contact Serena directly at to make an individual appointment to discuss your career-related questions. Presentations and Workshops MBA students: Capstone Proposal Presentations (The Gorge, ; includes a break for brunch at 11:00 am MSES and MRSC students: Residency Workshops (disperse from breakfast) Community-Based Energy, with Dr. Steve Letendre Using local demonstration sites, this workshop will explore the growing movement toward community-based renewable-energy projects, considering the possibilities and challenges of integrating such projects into existing energy grids. Field Journaling, with Lori Curtis, M.S. Students will take to the field with journals and field guides, directed by a series of prompts designed to sharpen their skills at observing and recording a variety of local species and environmental contexts in both text and sketches. Bioregional Perception Hike, with Dr. Laird Christensen This year s bioregional perception hike will take place at the Nature Conservancy s Buckner Preserve, where the day will begin with an overview of recent archaeological research, demonstrating cultural and technological adaptations to a changing climate over the last 12,500 years. Students will then hike Tim s Trail to Bald Mountain for an object lesson in making bioregional sense of a landscape, observing the overlap of watersheds, indigenous territories, and distinct physiographic regions.
