Actor s Guild American Society of Interior Designers Anime Media Society BCAT Connections Campus Lions Club Delta Alpha Pi Engineering Club Future Educators of America Gamers Guild History Club Improv Club Inkblot Club Journalism Club Lambda Epsilon Chi Math Club Multicultural Student Outdoor Adventure Club Paralegal Club Phi Theta Kappa Political Awareness Rainbow Alliance (LGBTQ) Social Empowerment Club Student Ambassadors Student Art Gallery Student Athlete Advisory Club Student Government Student Health Student Nurse The Warriors Veterans Club Actor s Guild - The Actor s Guild promotes discussions about acting, theater, and media; encourages acting and theater on campus; and performs workshops and performances on campus. Membership is open to all students who openly display an interest in and desire for improving their acting abilities in a higher learning environment. American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Offers a wide variety of self-directed on- and offcampus activities that keep our members busy with design concepts but also with organizational management, logistical planning, resource acquisition, and team building.

2 Anime Media Society - The purpose of the Anime Media Society is to view, discuss, and exchange information about Japanese entertainment media (animation, comics, books, popular music, movies, games, etc.), especially items that may be difficult for most to obtain in the USA. Discussion will be on stylistic quality, comparisons to source works, impact on international culture and business. Business Computing and Applied Technology (BCAT) - The BCAT Club informs students of HCC's Business, Computing and Applied Technology programs in addition to information relevant to career(s) in these fields(s) as well as making connections within the community for networking and service opportunities. Campus Lions Club - The Campus Lions Club is a service club, dedicated to helping members of the campus community as well as the surrounding local area. This group is affiliated with Lions Club International. Engineering Club The purpose of the Engineering Club shall be to provide currently registered HCC students interested in engineering careers with a club for activities and exchange of ideas. The club's activities shall engage students in exploring engineering concepts with dilemmas: and in proposing ways of resolving such issues and displaying them to students and faculty of HCC. This allows students to take knowledge gained in class and apply them to projects to better the college and the community. Future Educators of America The Future Educators Club promotes academic and career choice by providing opportunities for personal growth for students committed to a career in education; providing leadership training and experiences within the field of education; promoting the ideals, ethics, history, and programs of the organized teaching profession; and encouraging the maintenance of high standards for those aspiring to work in the field of education. Gamers Guild The Gamers Guild brings together gamers of all types to enjoy console, collectible card, and table top games. Gamers Guild also reviews current game titles, discusses local gaming events, and explores careers in game development. History Club The History Club s mission is to encourage the appreciation and study of history among the students of HCC by sponsoring seminars, field trips, and campus events to give students a chance to engage in history and its discussion outside of the classroom setting. Improv Club - The purpose of the Improv Club is to provide comedic entertainment to the community, to teach the community the art of improvisation, and to enhance public interest in theater events. Inkblot Club - The purpose of this organization shall be: We're a collaborative group focused on enhancing ourselves as fiction and creative non-fiction writers, poets, and playwrights. We delve into the genres of fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, and plays. We provide each other with honest evaluations of each other's works and give constructive criticisms not judgments. We focus on enhancing the quality of our works and allowing our creative minds to grow. We strive to enrich our school community by sponsoring writing contests, holding poetry nights, and producing plays.

3 Journalism Club - The purpose of the Journalism club is to examine, discuss, and produce all forms of journalism. Members will be provided with an opportunity to lend a voice to the college community by having a chance to have their work published in The Harford Owl. Lambda Epsilon Chi National Honors Society The purpose of LEC is to provide recognition to paralegal students for academic excellence, and to honor their achievements. Math Club - The purpose of this organization shall be to gather minds curious in the intricacies of, but not limited to, pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematical development and history, modern mathematical theories and problems, mathematical riddles, and, most important, enjoyment of mathematics. Participation in the Math Club should strengthen academic achievement and also offer a glimpse into prospective STEM track majors in professions and careers primarily focused on the use of mathematics and which involve mathematicians, scientists, and engineers. Multicultural Student - The Multicultural Student (MSA) is open to all students, promotes programs and services that enhance students intellectual, academic, social, and cultural development. MSA sponsors guest speakers, performers, educational and cultural outings, socials and picnics, and more, providing opportunities for students to work toward achieving individual and crosscultural goals. MSA supports all efforts toward a greater understanding of cultures and an overall greater appreciation of cultural diversity. Outdoor Adventure Club - The Outdoor Adventure Club was formed for individuals who share a common interest in outdoor activities and excursions. Members of the club build friendships and exercise team skills by planning and participating in outdoor adventures, such as skiing/snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, white water rafting, and canoeing. Paralegal Students - The Paralegal Students serves students interested in paralegal issues, law, and the legal process. In the past, the club has sponsored trips to the U.S. Supreme Court and Maryland Court of Appeals. An annual Law Fair is sponsored in the spring. The club fosters a network for students seeking careers in law. Membership is open to all students. Phi Theta Kappa Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of two-year colleges. Members of the Rho Beta Chapter participate in local service projects and fundraising activities. Each year students design a program around an honors topic, which provides the College community with an opportunity to study and debate important issues. Members also attend special regional and national Phi Theta Kappa functions; they are automatically eligible for scholarships directed toward Phi Theta Kappans. Political Awareness - The Political Awareness (PAA) serves students interested in politics, law and public affairs. Club functions include sponsoring public forums and guest speakers on political issues, organizing trips to political events, assisting students who want to participate in political campaigns, and providing experiences for students interested in public service careers.

4 Rainbow Alliance - The Rainbow Alliance is a student group whose mission is to encourage tolerance between all citizens regardless of sexuality. The group also strives to raise awareness of issues, and appreciation for the contributions of from the gay, straight, bisexual, and transgender communities. Social Empowerment Club (SEC) - The purpose of the SEC is to encourage, support, mentor and motivate students at HCC through peer support. This purpose also includes supporting and strengthening, through experience and professional motivation. Student Ambassadors The Harford Community College Ambassadors are a select group of Harford students who assist the Admissions Office with student recruitment and outreach by leading campus tours and attending on-campus open houses and other recruitment programs. Student Art Gallery - Applied Arts gives students the opportunity to have hands-on experience running a gallery and curating exhibitions in the Student Gallery located in Joppa Hall. The Student Art Gallery also provides opportunities for field trips to other galleries and gallery expos so that students can have more opportunities to experience contemporary art and understand more fully how professional galleries are run. Students interested in becoming a curator, working in a gallery or exhibiting their own work will benefit greatly from the Student Art Gallery. Student Athlete Advisory Club The mission of the Harford Community College Student Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image through leadership, service learning, and service to the community. Student Government (SGA) The SGA serves as the voice of the students, and communicates student needs campus-wide. SGA members are service-oriented, diverse, and responsive leaders who organize student activities, assist other student organizations, and cultivate an atmosphere of teamwork throughout the campus Student Health Students will be given the opportunity to participate in services that develop a healthy community. The group will collaboratively work with other organizations, educators, and health professionals to provide health betterment to Harford Community College. Members will have the opportunity to participate in special events. The Student Health will promote health fairs and develop speaker forums to encourage a healthy community. Student Nurse (SNA) - SNA aids in the professional development of nursing students by providing educational programs of interest to nursing students, and by encouraging changes in nursing education and practice through legislative activities. The organization also promotes collaborative relationships with other nursing and health organizations and encourages students' participation in community health activities. The Warriors The purpose of the Warriors is to promote V-Day through a yearly benefit production of The Vagina Monologues and other events, raise awareness about violence against women, support local programs that aid women and children who are victims of abuse.

5 Project LEaD: Leadership Engagement and Development. Students who participate and complete the Project LEaD requirements of learning, leading, and serving the community will earn a certificate and be recognized at a banquet each year in May. I am interested in Project LEaD Soar 2 Success This program provides a variety of cultural and social programming related to the experiences and empowerment of students of color. This program was formally known as Rites of Passage. I am interested in the Soar 2 Success Program Campus Committees there are also opportunities to participate and represent students on campus committees. For more information, contact Sharon Adams.
