7 A GINGERBREAD HOUSE WITH A PURPOSE The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba has a tradition of creating an annual gingerbread house inspired by local heritage and culture. This year we are honored to present a Gingerbread Cunucu House; a reflection of authentic Aruban architecture. Back in the days the Cunucu houses were the homes of the community and self-supporting units for food and water supply. The residents were often, multi-generational families. The desire to help those in need is embedded in our culture. In this spirit, the Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba offer guests the opportunity to learn more about our local heritage and our effort to raise funds to support the hurricane victims in our region. This delicious Gingerbread replica honors the traditional Cunucu House- a home that fosters peace, contemplation, and holiday spirit.
