8 IPC Meeting Minutes of 2009 ICCEPM To make this conference the major one in Asia, IPC members discussed the below. Confirmation of Items reached to agreement - Holding the CONFERENCE in rotation - Decided to rotate the conference in Asian countries for making it a major international conference in construction engineering management field. - Korea and other Asian country will host the conference biennially by turns. - Title of the conference - The official name of the conference will be ICCEPM from Proposal for the NEXT CONFERENCE - Prof. Sangwon Han of University of New South Wales, Australia submitted a proposal for hosting ICCEPM 2011 in Australia.!8

9 ICCEPM Conference Protocol This document describes the Governance Protocol for the International Conference on Construction Engineering and Project Management (ICCEPM). This document also describes roles and responsibilities of several committees of ICCEPM. 1. Conference a. The title of this conference is International Conference on Construction Engineering and Project Management, shortly ICCEPM-[YYYY] (e.g., ICCEPM-2013). b. The conference is held every two years. c. The conference is organized by Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management (KICEM). 2. Conference Venue a. The International Exchange (IEC) solicits conference bids for the venue of upcoming conferences. b. The International Program (IPC) makes all final decisions concerning the conference bids. c. Preference will be given to bids which enable the conference to rotate geographically. d. The IPC chair officially announces the venue for the next conference at the banquet of the current conference. 3. Conference Governance a. ICCEPM is administered by several committees, including International Program (IPC), International Exchange (IEC), Organizing (OC), Technical (TC) and sub-committees if necessary. b. These committees are classified to two main type: Permanent (including IPC and IEC) and One-time Organizations for a specific conference (including Organizing and Technical ). c. The Permanent Organizations guide and support the One-time Organizations for continuous improvement of the conference and consistency maintenance among all conferences. 4. International Program (IPC) a. IPC is responsible for making critical decisions regarding hosting and operating the conferences. b. IPC is constituted of academics and practitioners with high reputation and awareness in the area of construction engineering and project management. 5. International Exchange (IEC) a. IEC takes the role of secretariat to support hosting and operating of the conferences. b. IEC is responsible for reviewing conference proposals and making recommendations to IPC for selecting future conference venue. c. IEC is responsible for developing, improving and overseeing the conferences. 6. Organizing (OC) a. OC is responsible for creating and developing the conference program including the main theme, structure, and contents of the conference. b. OC is responsible for creating and maintaining the conference website and actively advertising the conference to academics and practitioners in the area of construction engineering and project management including those who had attended before. c. OC chair nominates keynote speakers for the conference and announce the list of the keynote speakers through the conference website or newsletters.!9

10 7. Technical (TC) a. TC is responsible for reviewing all abstracts and full papers submitted to the conference. b. TC is responsible for setting and updating important dates of the conference including Abstract Submission, Full Paper Submission, Acceptance Notification, Early Registration, and so on. c. TC is responsible for selecting best papers of the conference and the TC chair announces the best papers at the banquet of the conference.!10

11 2015 IPC meeting minutes Next hosting country for 2017 ICCEPM WILL BE HELD IN CHINA WITH COOPERATION WITH HONGKONG AND TAIWAN. PROF. FANG at Tshingwha Univ. (whao gave a keynot on the first day of ICCEPM 2015) will be an organizing chair. 1. All IPC members understood the current governance of ICCEPM (refer to the ICCEPM Conference Protocol) 2. And we, IPC Members reached a consensus of the need for "Society of Construction in Asia-Pacific Region" for more INNOVATIVE VALUE CREATION OF CONSTRUCTION. In order to initiate and realize this society, we understood that we need to devote enormous time and efforts. In the meantime, we agreed to begin its establishment work one-step-at-a-time-base to accomplish the vision of this society. Prof. Hsieh of National Taiwan Univ. mentioned that we should consider regional representatives, vote rights and membership (corporate, individual) of IPC members like other international organizations - ISARC 3. Current individual IPC member will invite at least one more influential people, who represents a country in Asia- Pacific regions. 4. Two important business matters have to be considered in organizing next conference programs. For academia, publishing selected conference papers to global high-quality construction journals For close relations between academia and industry, having more special industry sessions!11
