2 Welcome to Orlando Welcome to the 25th Annual Conference. The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading could not have reached this momentous occasion on without you, the members. Twenty-five years ago, our organization was founded by a few individuals Joe Murphy, George Dutton and Tim Watkins who were able to foresee that aircraft traders would need a forum in which to come together and share their experiences. Our first conference was in 1984 with about 50 participants gathering in Miami, Florida. Look how far we ve come. This year we welcome more than 1,000 professionals to reconnect and make deals, listen to an esteemed group of speakers and also remember our roots. On Tuesday evening, we honor Joe Sutter, eminent and respected Boeing engineer and father of the 747. He truly deserves the ISTAT Award for all of his accomplishments and contributions to the aviation industry. To ensure that ISTAT has another 25 years ahead of us as a strong and relevant organization, we work with young people and help them accomplish their aviation goals through the ISTAT Foundation s scholarships and internship program. We welcome six of last year s scholarship winners to the conference to integrate them into our organization so they can become future leaders. ISTAT has truly earned its wings. You received a lapel pin in your registration bag wear it proudly this week to remind you about how far ISTAT has come and as a constant challenge to do better and do more.
