2 From the President s I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers while I suffered with a recent illness, which has forced me to cut back on many chapter duties and responsibilities; and thank CDR Keyes for stepping up to the plate to assume those duties during my absence. I am doing much better now and have returned to work, and things are slowly getting back to normal. My energy is back to normal. I am feeling much like my old self with each passing day. I am delighted to hear that the chapter has establish a working relationship with CMI, Inc. the event staff company for the San Francisco 49ers football team. This relationship will allow the chapter to continue raising money to support the chapter s Hadwick and Lily Thompson Scholarship Foundation. Expect to hear more information about volunteering throughout the NFL season. I am also pleased to hear that the San Francisco Veterans Administration (VA) has asked the chapter to again perform the flag folding ceremony for the facility occupants and staff on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12. I encourage you to attend the event to visit with and honor the heroes who live at the hospital.
