3 ACT Current Services 6 Fixed-Routes: Mon-Fri, Tues service to Lonaconing Primarily one hour headways, 7:30am to 5pm $2.00 fare, children under 5 ride free with an adult FSU Shuttle (Contract Service): Mon-Fri 7:30am to 10:30pm, Sat 10am to 6pm Free for students with a current ID, also open to the public Demand-Response Service - Alltrans: Curb-to-curb transportation for ADA eligible and 65+ residents who live within ¾ mile of fixed-routes Same days & hours as fixed-routes Fares vary by zone, never exceed twice the fixed-route fare 5 ACT Current Bus Routes 3
4 Key Findings Most riders by line: 1) Green, 2) Blue 1, 3) White, 4) Gold Most riders by stop: 1) Roses (Queen City Dr.), 2) Country Club Mall, 3) Allegany College of MD Poor on-time system performance 7 Implications for Proposed Adjustments Reduce operating costs in response to County budget cuts Use limited resources more efficiently, shift away from underutilized route segments Improve on-time performance by building time into the schedule to make up for delays Focus on serving core areas of high demand (Willowbrook Rd, Country Club Mall) Maximize hours of service, allow riders to use ACT for work 8 4
5 Proposed Route and Fare Adjustments Four key routes, 8:00am-4:30pm, M-F Potential Fifth Route Evening service (4:30pm-8:30pm) and early morning service (6am-8am) in core areas - Contingent upon budget constraints Service to Lonaconing and Westernport 2 days/week No change to FSU shuttle No change in fare for fixed-routes Alltrans to increase fares to $4 per trip Proposed Routes 5
