1 CERTIFICATE III IN COMMUNITY PHARMACY COURSE OVERVIEW This qualification reflects the role of skilled pharmacy assistants who use a range of welldeveloped service skills to identify and meet customer needs. They have sound knowledge of a broad range of pharmacy products and health care support services. Some pharmacy assistants may be involved in assisting with a limited range of dispensary activities. They work with some independence, under limited supervision from others, but ultimately under the supervising pharmacist. They may provide technical advice and support to team members. Pharmacy assistants must comply with federal, state or territory law and Pharmacy Board of Australia Guidelines for supplying scheduled medicines. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. 5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To complete this course within the given timeframes, all learnes will be required to work through a pre-planned schedule. Learners will be required to demonstrate practical components of the course either in a real pharmacy work environment or attend workshops in a simulated pharmacy environment at TAFE NSW Tamworth Campus. UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER A requirement of your enrolment includes providing your USI (Unique Student Identifier). The USI register is an Australia-wide registry and provides ongoing access to your records and results. You can register and obtain your USI at FEE INFORMATION A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study and on your personal circumstances. NSW government subsidised fee This training is subsidised by the NSW Government and this fee is based on students who have been approved for training subsidised by the NSW Government under Smart and Skilled. To find out more about the Smart and Skilled fee structure, please visit the Smart and Skilled website at If you are not eligible for a subsidised place, you may be able to enrol and pay the non-subsidised fee. You may be entitled to a Concession or Exemption from the Fee and there are also Fee Free Scholarships available for 2017 for eligible learners.
