Buss, Assistant Director, A/C&Y Division PRELIMINARY ROUND RESULTS -18TH ANNUAL JUNIOR AIR RIFLE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS~HIP The results of the Preliminary Round of the 18thannual Junior Air Rifle 3-Position National Championship Tournament have been posted on the Junior Shooting Sports ProgramWebPages@ follow the links to the Civilian Marksmanship Program WebPages. A list of those individual athletes and teams advancing to the Qualification Round is also posted on the program WebPages. A list of the Preliminary Round State and/or Regional Champions is attached. The following is a synopsis of this year's competition:. 18 precision and 23 sporter individual athletes won state and/or regional championships. Additionally 14 precision teams and 26 sporter teams won state and/or regional championships.. 39 clubs have advanced to the team championship postal tournament, which will determine the top five precision and sporter teams.. 76 athletes from 53 clubs have advanced to the individual qualification round postal tournament to earn an invitation as one of the top fifteen athletes in the precision and sporter categories to compete in the National Championship match, to be held at the USA Shooting range facility, Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO., August 5-10, precision and 610 sporter athletes competed in the preliminary round individual competition. 57 precision and 126 sporter teams entered the preliminary round team competition.
