ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 7..0 AND WHEREAS THE Birch Tree/Elmore Limited Road Service Area was created by Anchorage Ordinance 1-7; and WHEREAS a showing of interest in continuing Said limited road service beyond December 1 0 has been made by persons residing in said limited road service area; now therefore, THE ANCHORAGE ASSEMBLY ORDAINS: Section 1. That a ballot proposition in substantially the following form shall be submitted to the qualified voters residing in the Birch Tree/Elmore Limited Road Service Area at the regular Municipal election on April, 0: Propoeition. ':C CONTINUATION OF THE BIRCH TREE/ELMORE LIMITED ROAD SERVICE AREA Shall the existence of the Birch Tree/Elmore Limited Road Service area be continued for an additional period of three () years after December 1,0 until December 1, 0? That Section 7..0 of the Anchorage Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Pursuant to section , there is established a board of supervisors to administer the Birch Tree/Elmore Limited Road Service Area. The board shall consist of five members elected for staggered terms. [THE SERVICE AREA WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 1, 0, UNLESS IT IS EXTENDED BY VOTE IN THE AREA AFFECTED AT THE REGULAR ELECTION OF APRIL 0.] Section. That Section of the Anchorage Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: There is a limited road service area within the municipality known as the Birch Tree/Elmore Limited ~ad Service Area to provide limited road maintenance and repair to the area described on the map located in Section Limited road maintenance and repair within the service area shall commence on January, and shall end on December 1, [0] ~ unless the service area is extended by an affirmative vote in the area affected at the regular election of April [0] April ~. The mill rate for the service area shall not exceed 1. mills in any calendar year. Section. Except for Section, this ordinance shall beoome effective upon passage and approval. Section and the proposition contained in Section 1 shall become effective upon certification of the regular election on the proposition called for by this ordin~nce, but only if that proposition is approved by a majority of the qualified voters voting on the proposition.
