1 PRIMARY PETITION FOR NOMINATING CANDIDATE(S) FOR MUNICIPAL OFFICE(S) PETITION MUST BE FILED WITH MUNICIPAL CLERK 57 DAYS PRIOR TO THE PRIMARY BY 4:00 P.M. (19:23-14) INSTRUCTIONS 1. Read petition carefully and fill in all blank spaces where required. 2. Petitioners must sign in their own handwriting, giving their residence and Post Office addresses under the words Signature of Petitioners in the presence of some one person. 3. The person in whose presence the petition was signed must sign the Petition and make the affidavit on page 3 before some officer authorized by law to take affidavits. 4. The Candidate or Candidates must sign the Certificate of Acceptance stating that he, she or they is/are qualified for the office and a member of the political party in the petition. 5. File Position on Ballot with the County Clerk and copy to Municipal Clerk within two (2) days after last day for filing of petition. 6. Mayor must file a separate petition from Council. 7. When using as a joint petition, list the name of the candidates in the order they are to appear on the ballot.
