20 Performance Level Degradation After 17 hours of sustained wakefulness, science has shown that crews will have the same degraded performance as someone with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.05% After 24 hours of sustained wakefulness, performance degradation is similar to someone who has a BAC level of roughly 0.10% -- legally intoxicated in all states 1 Dawson, D. and Reid, K., "Fatigue, Alcohol and Performance Impairment."
