The Landfill Operable Unit of the Tonawanda Landfill Vicinity Property will be addressed separately. The Record of Decision states that no action is warranted on the Mudflats Operable Unit because the human health risks, for all media, from radium, uranium and thorium present, are within the risk limits established in the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP) for both the current and reasonable future site uses. The Corps has identified the reasonable future site use for the Mudflats Operable Unit as commercial/industrial. This document is a product of the USACE environmental response project conducted under the authority of the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). USACE is the lead federal agency executing FUSRAP.
