Ashe Spending Students eligible for this scholarship award must be residents of Northampton or Hertford counties and is based on the financial need of the student. Must possess minimum 2.5 GPA and major in Education, Computer Science or Biology (pre-medicine). 3, Twelve (12) awards available at 250 each. Number of awards may increase based on additional contributions to the principal of the Bernice Stewart Ashe Belk Students eligible for this scholarship award must be a legal resident of NC and possess a minimum 900 SAT score with a high school 3.0 or higher GPA. Must maintain enrollment as a full time student with at least 15 semester hours each semester and maintain an overall 3.0 GPA of to continue eligibility BB&T Endowed Students eligible for this scholarship must be a legal resident of NC. Eligible students must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher with an SAT score of 850 or lower for entering freshmen. This award is based on the financial need of the student. Student(s ) awarded this scholarship must maintain enrollment as a full-time student and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 to continue eligibility. 1, CM Franklin Recipients must be a legal resident of North Carolina, have a 2.5 GPA or higher (persons with highest GPA above 2.5 will have first consideration), maintain enrollment as a full-time student at ECSU, have a minimum SAT score of 900 for entering freshmen, maintain an overall average of 3.0 to continue eligibility, and demonstrate financial need Charles Jenkins and Dorothea Poole Jenkins Students eligible for this scholarship award must have at least a 3.0 GPA and maintain full-time status. Recipients determined by the ECSU Office of Student Financial Aid and s. (Note: Modification Enacted by Board of Directors) 1, Centura Bank The student must have completed his/her junior year, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 3.3 in major courses; have earned a minimum of 75 semester hours of which 30 were at ECSU and received a recommendation from his/her departmental faculty. 2, Claude & Lois Green Students eligible for this scholarship award must be a legal resident of NC. This award is based on the financial need of the student. Eligible students must have a high school 2.0 or higher GPA with a minimum 800 SAT score. Student(s) chosen for this award must maintain enrollment as a full-time student and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Selection by appropriate officials in the ECSU Office of Student Financial Aid and s Charles Williams Memorial Students eligible for this scholarship award must have a high-school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and a 800 or above SAT score. Eligible students must have a class ranking within the top 20% of students graduating. Students must receive a recommendation from his/her high school principal or guidance counselor and be a community leader and enrolled in ECSU of 11 Foundation Approved (6/9/2017)

2 Foundation Budgets University Choir This scholarship may be awarded to incoming freshmen and current students enrolled in the University Choir with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and maintain an overall 3.0 or higher GPA. Student (s) must display a work ethic conducive for leadership and excellence, must maintain the highest moral and ethical standards, be free of criminal charges and convictions and free of infractions against school policies and procedures. This scholarship award is renewable annually for a maximum of 3 years for full time students who meet the aforementioned criteria Class of 63 This scholarship can be awarded to more than one student for the academic year. Eligible students must be incoming freshmen and must have a minimum 800 SAT score and a high school 2.5 or better GPA. Student(s) awarded this scholarship must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better to continue eligibility for 4 years. 1, Class of '65 This scholarship can be awarded to more than one student for the academic year. Eligible students must be incoming freshmen and must have a minimum 800 SAT score and a high school 2.5 or better GPA. Student(s) awarded this scholarship must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better to continue eligibility for 4 years Class of '67 Students eligible for this scholarship award must be an incoming freshmen who meets all admission requirements and the student must maintain a no less than a 2.5 GPA. The selected student must also demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewabel through the students sophomore year, as long as all criteria are met. s may be used to defray any costs associated witht he student's educational program at ECSU. This would include tuition, books, and all other fees. 2, Eassie C. Payton Mills This scholarship award is to be given to an entering freshman student with a 3.0 GPA from a Pitt County High School. The scholarship will continue for the elected student for 4 years if he/she maintains a 3.0 GPA and demonstrates a financial need. If no graduate from a Pitt County High School can be recruited, then any minority student from any NC High School with a 3.0 GPA and a demonstrated financial need will be selected EN Smith Recipient must major in Health and Physical Education or in the Department of Business and Economics, be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. or Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., be enrolled full-time, demonstrate good academic standing by maintaining a GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and be a junior or senior Evelyn Johnson The Trust is used to offer four scholarships annually. Students must pursue studies in Education or the Performing Arts. One scholarship will be awarded to a student attending Fisk University or ECSU for the Evelyn A. Johnson and also a student from Gillfield Baptist Church and Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church for the Otelia Johnson Byrd Memorial Floyd Robinson Endowed may be awarded to all currently enrolled ECSU students to cover tuition, books and all other fees General s may be awarded to all currently enrolled ECSU students to cover tuition, books and all other fees. 100, Glaxo Foundation Awards determined by the faculty member assigned to the Women in Science Program. This scholarship serves as an incentive for full time women science students to enter the science profession. The scholarship is awarded to female students each fall with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Female students that are chosen to receive this award must maintain a 3.0 or better to continue eligibility. To be awarded to two students each fall by a committee of three scholars. Committee membership may include persons with academic backgrounds in math and science, in academic administration and in financial aid. The committee will meet during the spring semester; after the committee has determined its nominees it shall forward those names to The Glaxo Foundation which then will notify the students. Recipient(s) will be announced each year by The Glaxo Foundation JE Cofield This scholarship award may be awarded to 2 or more persons. Eligible student(s) must be full time students majoring in Education. Student (s) chosen for this award must be a junior or senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. 3 Foundation Budgets J S Carrie Roebuck This scholarship award will be used for football scholarships to athletes residing in Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank and Perquimans Counties. The remaining 25% is to be added to corpus and disbursed at the Board's discretion at the end of the 50 years from the date of the gift. (February, 2034) 1, Jacob and George Felton This scholarship will be awarded to the top football player with academic excellence, potential for success and university involvement each year. Eligible student (s) must carry a minimum course load of 12 credit hours. The scholarship award is not renewable. Award is 2,000 per year. Recipient interviewed and selected by a committee consisting of Addie Griffin, Thurlis Little, Coach Tiller, and Izila Mouring Maurice Powers This scholarship shall provide funding for any students who demonstrate considerable financial need and who are likely to make a strong, positive impact in the school community and in their chosen field. s of up to 4,000 can be awarded to students who do not have the funds available to pay the financial gap due to their unmet need. Additionally, students must pre-major in the Department of Natural Sciences, Pharmacy and Health Professions, be in good academic standing as defined by ECSU, and be in full-time status. First preference is to award one female and one male up to 2,000 each, not to exceed 4,000 annually. Recipients shall be determined by the appropriate officials in the Department of Natural Sciences, Pharmacy and Health Professions in consultation with the ECSU Office of Financial Aid and s. 3, Omega Psi Phi Endowed Students eligible for this scholarship must be a member or a relative of a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Eligible student(s) must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours. 1, Pitt Students eligible for this scholarship award must pursue a four-year degree and the scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years provided the recipients earn 30 credit hours per year and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students that reside in Edgecombe County, NC will be given first preference. 12, Ridley Students eligible for this scholarship award must have a GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate quality leadership representing 65% given for University Center and 35% for other campus activity. Annual award is plus an engraved trophy Samuel and Nora Thompson This scholarship award will be given to a graduating senior who has persevered in spite of difficulties and accomplishes graduating with his/her class Department of Social Science Justice Recipient must have completed 3 semesters of general studies requirements at ECSU and be pursuing a degree in history. is announced at annual Honors Convocation Thomas and Helen Caldwell Endowed may be awarded to all students currently enrolled in a major in the Department of Literature, Language, and Culture. ECSU students to cover tuition, books, and all other fees Robert E. Harvey Tri-State Students eligible for this scholarship award must be a legal resident of the Tri-States (Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware); have a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need. One scholarship in the amount of 1,000 or two scholarships in the amount of 500 each to be awarded beginning fall of Student(s) may receive this award for multiple years, provided that the selection criteria are met and there are no other applicants. Selection by the ECSU Office of Student Financial Aid and s Vivian Burke Students eligible for this scholarship must be full time students of Elizabeth City State University who are legal residents of North Carolina from Northeast Ward or Winston-Salem; maintain enrollment as a fill time student with at least 15 semester hours each semester; have a minimum SAT score and high school GPA acceptable to ECSU for admission; and are incoming freshmen. 3 of 11 Foundation Approved (6/9/2017)

4 Foundation Budgets William and Alice Culpepper This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student Willie Mae Jones-Johnson Student must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher with a minimum SAT score of 850 and 750 for entering freshmen. To continue eligibility, recipient must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5. This is a needbased scholarship Mary Tillery Recipient must b a sophomore, junior or senior who has demonstrated a sincere desire to complete a four your academic program and has financial need Band Band students as selected by the band director. 10, Joe White Recipient shall be a sophomore who has a 2.5 GPA or above, demonstrates financial need, has shown progress within his or her freshman class, participates in an extra-curricular activity, and is majoring in Industrial Arts or Technology Margaret & Lorimer Midgett Endowed Students must be enrolled at ECSU and reside in Elizabeth City, Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck or Dare County. 18, Sheryl Denise Ganus Endowed Recipients must be computer science majors carrying a semester course load of 12 credit hours with a minimum of GPA of 2.8. Students are eligible to retain this scholarship. 3, Charlie H. and Louise Hughes Spending The recipient must be a NC native studying Elementary Education with a high school GPA of 3.0. Once admitted to the university student must maintain a 3.0 GPA with a 12 or more credit hour course load. 2, More than one student may be eligible for this scholarship every year Johnson and Barnes Recipient must be an incoming freshman enrolled at ECSU from the 21-county service area of Northeast NC. Student must maintain a semester course load of 15 credit hours and a minimum GPA of 2.5. Only those majoring in Social Work or Business Administration are eligible to receive this scholarship. Student must be actively involved in the community, and become a member of the ECSU Pre-Alumni Club Phillip Smith, III Students must reside in Hampton or Newport News, VA and maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours. Two (2) 500 awards Johnson & Johnson The criteria for the dual scholarships of per student during the Honors Program each spring semester are as follows: one student must be an African American senior mathematics major with the highest GPA above and one student must be a an African American senior elementary education major with the highest GPA above in attendance at ECSU for 4 consecutive years The Winifred J. Wood for Northern Albemarle Recipient must reside in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank, or Perquimans County. Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA coming out of high school. Student is expected to be full time with a minimum 2.5 high school / college GPA and 1200 SAT1 score. May retain for 4 consecutive years. 1, of 11 Foundation Approved (6/9/2017)

5 Foundation Budgets Dr. Brian R. Copeland Applicant must be from the New York (preference to students from Brooklyn). This scholarship is available to education and science majors with a 3.0 GPA. Recipient of scholarship receives an annual scholarship of 2,. Non-recurring. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a semester course load of a minimum of 16 credit hours are eligible for this scholarship. 2, Dr. Naginder S. Dhillon and Resource will be utilized to support ECSU students who intend to pursue graduate studies in political science and lae. These funds can be awarded to defray any costs associated with their graduate application process including testing, application fees, travel to and from prospective graduate school, and tuition, fees and books. Student must possess and maintain a 3.0 grade point average in order to be eligible to receive finance resources from this fund. Award distributed through University Advancement Ruth Hollet Frinks may provide income to support a one-time scholarship for one student at Elizabeth City State University each fall. Additionally, students must 1) Be a resident of Chowan County, North Carolina; 2) Be a fill time undergraduate student; 3) Have a GPA of at least 2.5; and 4) Be an education major, with first preference being Elementary Education. 1 only Senior Class The will be awarded to a graduating senior in the fall of each academic year. s are not renewable and the student must meet the financial need set by the Office of Financial Aid. Students receiving the scholarship will be notified that they have received support from this fund. Only students enrolled at Elizabeth City State University, carrying a semester course load minimum of 12 credits and a minimum GOA of 2.5 are eligible for this scholarship Class of 1979 Student must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher and once admitted into the university he/she is required to maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester to continue eligibility Class of 1969 Student must be enrolled at ECSU and carry a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours. More than one student may be eligible for this scholarship every year. Available dollars could be split among two or more students Sharonda C. Walton Must be a resident of Northampton County majoring in Computer Science. Student must have a high school GPA of 2.5 and SAT score of 800 or no less than the minimum set by the UNC System. Recipients determined by the ECSU Office of Student Financial Aid and s Linda Davenport-Sanders Students must be enrolled in the band Willa Rascoe Faulk Dawson Hunt Book fund This fund shall provide assistance to students who graduated from a high school in Bertie County, North Carolina; and who are at least a sophomore at ECSU with a 3.0 overall GPA Desiree H. Kirby Academic and Talent Grant Recipients must be undergraduate students enrolled at Elizabeth City State University on a full-time basis; be in good academic standing by maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher; Demonstrate Financial Need. (2) students who are awarded will meet the overall scholarship criteria based on their academic performance; and (2) students who are athletes or exhibit another talent (such as band, choir, student leadership or other extracurricular activities) who meet the overall scholarship criteria receive the scholarship each year. In the years that no student athlete or students involved in extracurricular activities meet the criteria, additional academic scholarships my be given, but the fund may not exceed 4 scholarships within one academic year. 5 of 11 Foundation Approved (6/9/2017)

6 Foundation Budgets State Employees Combined Campaign Recipient must be a resident of NC, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and a full-time ECSU student. Student must also have a SAT score of 750 or higher. Student must compose a 350 word essay on his/her experience with or perception of ECSU. Returning students should have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Selection by the Chancellor of ECSU or his/her designee. Relatives of members of this scholarship committee are not eligible for this award. Amount of funds expended shall not exceed 85% of the fund balance at June 30th each year. 3, The Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Recipients must be female; current members of the Delta Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at Elizabeth City State University; have at least a 3.0 GPA; and maintain enrollment as a full-time student with at least 15 semester hours each semester NC Legislative Black Caucus Students must have a GPA 3.0 or above. Freshman, sophomores, juniors and non-traditional students who meet scholarship criteria are eligible. Students must complete the foundation application form and submit it with their essay to the financial aid office. Schools should determine award amounts to be issued to each student with average scholarship amounts ranging between 1,000-2,500 per student with no award less than 500 and not more than 2,500. A report from the institution identifying scholarship recipients along with a professional photograph of each student, classification, hometown, major, academic average and scholarship amounts awarded along with copies of essays should be returned to the foundation by US mail to the NCLBCF box office. 5, Need to reach out to the NC Legislative Black Caucus to see if they will provide further support for this fund Dr. A.L. Choudhury Memorial Recipients must be registered full-time; have a class rank of junior, have declared a major in the Department t of Mathematics and Computer Science or the Department of Natural Sciences majoring in Chemistry; Demonstrate good academic standing by maintaining a GPA of at least 3.25; and demonstrate financial need Elizabeth City Alumnae Chapter Recipients must be in good academic standing with ECSU; maintain at least a 3.0 GPA; maintain of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. enrollment as a fill-time student with at least 12 semester hours each semester; be academically classified as a junior only (no seniors); have documented leadership and community service. Recipient recommend by the Elizabeth City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Dr. Paul and Patricia Norman Recipient must be from Bertie County, Washington County, or Wake County; be a full-time student; have a GPA of at least 2.5; and demonstrate financial need TH Wamack Award Student must be a Junior or senior majoring in one of the social sciences. The award will recognize academic progress, potential for success, the overall involvement of the student in the social sciences at the university and in the community Math and Computer Science This scholarship may be awarded to a full-time student with a major in Math and Computer Science, and have an overall GPA of at least 3.00 with a 3.50 GPA in Math and Computer Science major courses. Student must display a work ethic conducive for academic excellence and leadership. Student must be in good academic standing and must maintain the highest moral and ethical standards. Student must also be free of criminal charges and convictions and free of infractions against school policies and procedures. If a full-time student is not eligible, a part-time student that meets the preceding criteria may receive the scholarship School of Education and Psychology Merit Entering freshman with a 3.75 GPA, ACT score of at least 28 and SAT score of 1,240 or an entering freshman with a 3.50 GP, ACT score of at least 30, SAT score of 1,320 and an expressed interest in a major in the School of Education and Psychology. This award is renewable annually for full-time students for a maximum of 3 years, provided the recipient maintains a 3.5 or higher GPA and continues to pursue a degree within the School of Education and Psychology. 7 Foundation Budgets School of Math, Science and Technology Merit Entering freshman with a 3.75 GPA, ACT score of at least 28 and SAT score of 1,240 or an entering freshman with a 3.50 GP, ACT score of at least 30, SAT score of 1,320 and an expressed interest in a major in the School of Math, Science and Technology. This award is renewable annually for full-time students for a maximum of 3 years, provided the recipient maintains a 3.5 or higher GPA and continues to pursue a degree within the School of Education and Psychology. Recipients must maintain the highest moral and ethical standards and be free of criminal charges and convictions and free of infractions against school policies and procedures. 1, Ella Baker Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth City State University carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, a minimum SAT score of 800, majoring in n accredited field of study of their choice, and live within the New York geographical area are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is renewable Mickey Burnim Initial recipient must be a first-time freshman. The student must be a business, economics, teacher education or science-discipline major with a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0. SAT (verbal + math) must be at least 1,000. If there is no eligible student in the aforementioned majors, this scholarship may be awarded to a student majoring in another field of study. Applicant must be committed to earning a baccalaureate degree from ECSU. is renewable for up to four years. The student's cumulative GPA must be 3.0. Total amount per student may not exceed 5,000 in a given academic year. 1, Mary C. Hyatt Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth City State University carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, a minimum SAT score of 800, majoring in n accredited field of study of their School of Business and Economics Students selected by the School of Business and Economics E. Kirk Rivers Endowed Student must be a graduating senior from Northeastern High School and reside in the 4th Ward of the city of Elizabeth City. Applicant must complete a scholarship application, write an essay and provide a copy of the letter of admission to ECSU in the scholarship application packet Cook Wood -Spending Recipient must be a full-time ECSU student Kevin Wade/ Mr. ECSU Recipients must be the reigning Mr. and Miss Elizabeth City State University Rev Foster Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth City State University carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours, and must possess a 2.0 GPA Class of 1975 Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth City State University carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours, have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher. 8 Foundation Budgets Independent Insurance Agents of NC Preference to undergraduate students accepted in the Walter R. Davis School of Business and Economics with a demonstrated commitment towards a career in business administration, a minimum 2.5 GPA and a legal resident of NC. 4, Richard Reid Recipient must be a junior or senior business major in good academic standing at ECSU, have a GPA of at least 2.5; submit a written essay of at least 500 words to the chairperson or dean in the Department of School of Business, or the chairman of the scholarship committee in that discipline, or his/her designee. The essay should be entitled and explain one of the following: 1) What I Plan to Do With My Degree" or "How I Plan to Use my Degree to Help My Fellow Man." Only students enrolled at ECSU and carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours are eligible for this scholarship. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and a SAT score of 850 to be eligible for this scholarship. More than one student may be eligible for this scholarship every year. 2, Matthew and Christine Lewis Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth City State University and carrying a semester coarse load of a minimum of 12 credit hours, reside In or record Martin County, Pitt County or Hertford County, North Carolina as their home count; register with the School of Education and Psychology as at least one of their major courses of study and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in high school or college Trustee Emeriti Endowed This scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled at ECSU. 2, Greg Russell and Mail Boxes, Etc. for Aviation Science This scholarship is awarded to students in the ECSU Aviation Sciences Program. Student must be an incoming freshman with a grade point average of 3.0 or more. Student must be a NC resident who lives east of Interstate Franklin and Hannah Owens This scholarship may be awarded to students in the School of Education and Psychology or students in the University Choir. 3, ,500 each to a 1) Education Student and 2) University Choir Student Benny O. Hodges Recipient shall be determined by the appropriate Athletic officials and confirmed by Financial Aid. Recipient must be a qualified student athlete attending ECSU and demonstrate acceptable academic promise and shall have a record of good citizenship Norman "Buster "Murphy & Georgianna Treadwell Murphy Two undergraduate scholarships per year. One scholarship each to a NC resident student from Bladen or Sampson County; first preference for African American students as allowed by law; minimum GPA of 3.0; recipients shall demonstrate financial need; pre-majors or majors in the departments of Business, Music, English and/or Science; qualified applicants may be recipients of other scholarships; awarded funds may be used for tuition and/or other costs exceeding tuition necessary for the student to attend the University; and if no applicants meet the criteria during a given year, the funds should be held until the following year, or the next year an acceptable applicant qualifies. Two undergraduate scholarships per year Myrtle G. Boone Endowed The purpose of this fund is to support the costs of textbooks at ECSU beginning in the fall semester of Tyron W. 9 Foundation Budgets The Virgie Lee Hawkins & Carol Hawkins Heyward Endowed Recipients of this scholarship must be a resident of Northampton County (NC) and maintain full-time enrollment at ECSU. The student must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 to retain this scholarship award Donna Congelton Watts Endowed More than one student may be eligible for this scholarship. Recipients must major in one of the follow areas- education, aviation, sciences or music industry studies; enrolled at ECSU with a minimum 12 credit semester course load. 3, Bettye T. 10 Foundation Budgets Athletic General Recipients of this scholarship must be a student athletes with a grade point average of 2.5 or better. The student must maintain enrollment as a full time student at ECSU. Entering freshman must have a minimum SAT of 950; ACT Equivalent; maintain an overall GPA of 3.0; apply funds directly towards tuition and fees only and be a legal resident of the state of NC Gilchrist -Spending The recipient will be awarded the scholarship provided they have leadership potential and have the ability to give back to the University. The student must be involved in extra-curricular activities but not limited to campus or civic organizations. The applicant must be committed to earning a baccalaureate degree from ECSU. The recipient must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5. Continued funding is contingent upon full-time status. 4, Youth Education Opportunities, Inc. Endowed Recipients shall have a cumulative GPA of at lease a 2.5, demonstrate a strong financial need and exemplify qualities of leadership and community service. Preference shall be given to sociology, finance, education or business administration majors ECSU National Alumni Association Endowed Spending This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at ECSU and carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours with a 3.0 grade point average. This scholarship will be utilized to attract and retain top students who rank within the top 10% of their high school graduating class and entering ECSU. 15, Chiquita Taylor Educational Endowed Recipients must be enrolled at Elizabeth city State University and carrying a semester course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours LaTanya Afolayan Endowed Spending This scholarship is open to any undergraduate that demonstrates a commitment to his or her academic goals and community service. This is a recurring scholarship for sophomores, juniors and seniors. Each recipient must possess a 2.5 GPA. This scholarship is open to full-time students with at least 12 credit hours each semester. The preferred majors are Education, Music, Business, Visual Arts, Political Science, English and Communication Studies. The recipient must complete a minimum of 10 hours of community service monthly at one of the following entities and/or non- profits: an elementary school, a hospital, food bank, nursing home, homeless shelter or animal shelter. Verification of community service must be submitted to the ECSU Foundation on a quarterly basis in order for the recipient (s) to retain the scholarship in subsequent years. 1, Marvin and Lois Thornton Endowment recipients shall be in good academic standing as defined by ECSU, demonstrate financial need, be from historically underserved, economically disadvantaged, and/or low-resourced communities.
