2 The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba invites nominations for the following honors and awards: The Pharmacist of the Year Nominations for Pharmacist of the Year are requested. This award is given annually to a Manitoba Pharmacist who, in the opinion of his/her peers, has made a significant contribution to the profession during his/her career. 3 Bonnie Schultz Memorial Award for Pharmacy Practice Excellence The recipient of the Bonnie Schultz Award will receive an appropriate plaque. The award is made annually with the proviso that the Awards Committee may choose not to recommend an award if a worthy recipient has not been identified. This year s award will be given at the Annual Conference Awards Banquet. Any person may nominate a pharmacist or group of pharmacists for the award. An individual will be entitled to receive an award on more than one occasion. Criteria: The nominee shall demonstrate outstanding excellence in optimizing patient care. The pharmacist(s) involved are members of the College. 2. The project or program has demonstrated a positive impact upon patient safety and involves some component of the practice of pharmacy 3. Innovative and patient centered care projects will be given preference. 4. 4 Bowl of Hygeia An appreciation of the time and personal sacrifice devoted by pharmacists to the welfare of their respective communities promoted E. Claiborne Robins, President of A.H. Robins and a third-generation pharmacist in his family, to establish in 1958 the Bowl of Hygeia Award for outstanding community service by pharmacists. The award, a handsome mahogany plaque which features the Bowl of Hygeia cast in bronze, is presented annually to a recipient selected by each of the participating pharmaceutical associations.
